When I was living alone, I hand washed all my dishes except for one night that I had a dinner party. There were too many dishes, so I decided to use my dishwasher. A week or so went by after the party and I couldn't find a few key pieces of cookware. I called my friends and family to see if they had accidentally taken it home after the party. No one had what was missing. Fast forward 6 or so years and I'm getting all packed up to move. I decided to opened the dishwasher on my final pass through of the kitchen, and what do you know, it was full of all those missing dishes! LOL

Lol at our old house I would "discover" that we had a dishwasher about every 6 months. I always forgot even though it wasn't exactly hidden or anything.
So funny!!! We always hand washed dishes growing up but now with baby 6 due this week I have to say, my dishwasher is my best friend 🤣. Lots of dishes here haha

My mom always enjoyed reading books written by Erma Bombeck. A humorist who wrote about being a stay at home mom. Best sellers from the 60s. My mom stayed at home and read her books and had a cup of coffee. Very witty and hysterical. Thanks for sharing your calm sweetness of your family life!

I’m 11 weeks pregnant with my first, and the first trimester has been so rough for me. I haven’t cleaned, cooked, or done much of anything most of this pregnancy. I had to laugh when you pulled out the forgotten squash! When my husband and I were engaged I made him supper(like a good little fiancé), and he took it back to his house to eat the leftovers. A while later we got married and got back from our honeymoon, and I went to the fridge and IT WAS STILL THERE! I threw the whole thing out and our house stunk for days! It took years for me to make that dish again.
And that is why u are one ofy most fav CZcams mom's... You keep it real, like real mom life... And as u say "You do you. And I'll do me".. cuz as much as mom life is real.. we are all same.. but we are also different.
And I love how you politely stood your ground in the proper manor.. of putting being a mom ahead of the house.. something that's hard for me to do at times.. but I'm also twice your age, and grew up in a home where mom did everything else except go to work at an actual paid job +although she DID also babysit in the home alot--my mom was an awesome mom.. and now she's an awesome mom and GMA)
I can't think of when I've left something in the oven, but I've definitely left things in the microwave by accident! Cold coffee, veggies that never made it to the table, you name it! 💛

Set a timer or an alarm to remind yourself to put whatever you left to cool away. When I forget to set a timer the next morning gets off to a rough start when I find the beans I cooked the night before still in the strainer in the sink because I didn't put them away, that can derail a meal plan real quick and I don't shift gears easily. So I always set a timer or alarm, even if I think I'll remember, more often than not I do forget and the timer going off reminds me 👍

After my husband and I were recently married, I made a chicken pasta bake for supper one night. Nobody in my family taught me how to cook growing up, so to say that this recipe gave me anxiety to make is an understatement. Made the dish, tasted great, woke up the next morning to realize I had accidentally left it out all night on the counter. Yeah, I wanted to cry and shove the dish in the fridge and eat the leftovers anyways. Safe to say I learned a lesson that day! Always check the counters before going to bed!! Haha, real-life - just gotta embrace it!

Buckle up. Years ago we got a Magic Bullet blender for our wedding. I spent months making smoothies until the day when the cup got stuck. The cup would NOT come off the base. I stuck it in the back corner of my kitchen (before minimalism haha) and forgot about it. Much later I tried to open it and it exploded from the pressure that had built inside. EXPLODED EVERYWHERE. Two months of fermenting spinach and berries. The ceiling, the floor, the living room, me. The smell was astounding.

Omg your question about the grossest thing you’ve ever found was literally MADE for me. Long story short, a few years ago, I kept smelling this foul smell in my house for literal DAYS. And I couldn’t find it for the life of me. Finally it got SO bad that I literally tore my house apart. My husband (god bless him🙄) put a dirty shaker cup that he used for protein, in with our clean shaker cups. I tried washing it out which made the entire house smell AWFUL for the rest of the night. I’ve never smelled something that terrible in my life. Ended up just throwing the whole cup away. Husbands…..I swear😅🤣

I just experienced a chai latte for the first time two weeks ago and am so addicted now. I have dairy issues and am also allergic to eggs. I need to figure out how to make a skinny and delicious chai latte. I love that you are "just not willing" to get it all done in a day. Your sweet little ones will be grown up too quick. Mine are 31, 27, and 15 now. Making memories is so much more important. My house was clean enough for us and I did not miss out on anything. No regrets!
