I took this historic Japan Airlines flight from New York City to Tokyo on JAL A350-1000 first flight from New York.

This has to be one of the world's best business classes
I think JAL still has the same safety video as before. I’ve seen people online discuss about how the detailed evacuation instructions, especially the part emphasising to not take your luggage and block the aisle, helped to save lives that day. The same can be said about the position to take when using the slide and helping to assist when you get onto the ground.

Yes that was an amazing evacuation because the Japanese people are very polite and follow rules. I'm flying JAL from Adelaide to London return end of May this year and this makes me feel comfortable that if something goes wrong we will be in safe hands.

I flew JAL F back in 2022 between HND and ORD and loved it. Cannot wait to experience the new JAL experience
The extra things they give you in that goodie bad are such a nice touch. I would’ve been ecstatic to have a tag that said first flight in Japan by airbus. That alone would’ve made this an unforgettable flight!

The charger in the amenity kit *chef's kiss*. It's nice to see JAL's phenomenal soft product offering being paired with this beautiful new hard product. I flew with them in Sept 2023 and was pleasantly surprised by the apex suites, got great sleep, but this new offering looks like a big step up and I cannot wait to try it out myself.

I watch a lot of these type videos for planes trains and cruise ships. This is hands-down the BEST I have ever seen! The Time and the Detail that was given to explain, without dialogue, Everything I need to know about ALL the products, food, arrangements, etc., is Perfect. Bravo Sir!!

I wonder if the seat (or bed) accommodates for taller passengers. I had terrible experience with ANA's The Room when sleeping but JAL's new business looked very spacious.
Yes! I’m a tall person, and had no problems. It didn’t feel cramped at all.
The bed length is 198cm, according to JAL’s website.

Thank you very much! It does look fantastic, maybe with the exception of a table (looks on a small side and a bit clunky to operate). Also, to the right of seat, under a window, it looks like a wasted space to put more storage (never too much)…
FYI sneakers was suppose to go on top of each other 20:58 think of a sneaker box on it’s side.

Hi, why were you disappointed by the seat? I've flown twice in J with JAL and this is better than the sky suite 3, the reverse herringbone which is not very private at all. The original sky suite is probably more private if you have a window suite, but this looks great with the sliding door.
@@rod_at_adelaide5766 technically, based on the website of JAL, the seat and the bed are narrower, the footrest is significantly smaller. However, I read the review of TPG and they did measure "between armrests" and other spaces. Thus, I feel roomier than first estimation.

Not gonna lie, that safety video showing clear air turbulence without a seat belt, and people panicking being trapped inside the aircraft because someone wanted to take their carryon gave me anxiety 😅

Nice trip to Tokyo TTT, and JAL's new A35K was so stunning. Do they will use to replace aging B77W's? I can expect their services are far better despite post-January incident with it's miracle saving all 370+ lives in less than 100 seconds in heavy critical times. Kudos to JAL for amazing crew, passengers and services including food. I hoped every other carriers worldwide can follow this good example like United, British Airways, AA, and other carriers. Will JAL have A330-900neo to replace aging B767s? And other carriers will have 4 class configuration of A350-1000 with first class like JAL did? I expected Cathay Pacific, Vietnam Airlines, Singapore Airlines, Delta, Air France, Garuda, Iberia, KLM and Lufthansa?
JAL is planning to make A350-1000s their new Flagship aircraft, and they will replace their 777s with them. So technically every route served by the 777s would get an A350 eventually.

The thing I've noticed in Airbuses (only had a few flights on them) is that whirring sound on takeoff is a little louder than Boeing. It is a little irritating. Otherwise a nice plane!

The cabin looked like a major upgrade from the current Airbus planes. The outside camera quality beats anything at the moment and looks like a big upgrade too. The in-flight entertainment seemed smoother than the current ones. I wonder if the bluetooth option is available for economy passengers like myself. It would be so cool to be able to use my own quality wireless earphones on long haul flights.

Thanks for sharing! I am in Japan right now and have a JAL award flight booked for the trip back home in the old F. I really would like to try the new F or J on the A350 but haven't seen any award seats released on the direct JFK route. Did you book this seat with cash?
I booked this one cash, but I’ve seen some J availability in the next few months on A350 to JFK.
it kinda sucks that i won't be able to fly to japan from jfk on a JAL b777, but at least the new airbus is a good improvement. Also American airlines just announced that they have been approved to use their b777 planes to fly from jfk to haneda. Hope the prices will be good and affordable

Thank you! It didn’t bother me at all, I actually loved it. I did hear my neighbor though, and I think if someone is really trying to take a nap and people around them use it at the highest volume, it could be annoying.

@@flyjfk well, I used to listen classic or instrumental music through headset while sleeping because it is a great methode to neutralise noise in cabin. Thus, the new speakers in headrest amaze me so much. IMO, it is definitely better sleeping without phone but still feeling relaxed by music.

How-come the safety video has a 777-300ER on it rather than the A350-1000? they are completely different aircraft and has a completely different interior? Was just wondering? but the safety video is key to every flight. great video.
