I went to the Philippines via japan airlines business class with my mom because my dad gave up his ticket to be in economy instead of first class. I really enjoyed the japanese meals/snacks i had on the way to the Philippines. Mind you, I took another plane to get to our final destination.
I have to say, business class in japan airlines was one of the best experiences I’ve had.

Very nice. Brings back memories of the Army bringing us home from Korea in 1978 on a Tiger Airlines charter flight - knees up to our chins. But we were young and flexible - and coming home after a year - so we were just glad to be on the plane.
🤣🤣🤣🤣... You were lucky. I missed my Port-Of-Call fight to Korea in 80, and had to take a Hop on a C-5 Galaxy Cargo plane. Talk about knees to the chin, canned sea-rations for meals, no windows and stuck in a tiny seating area at the very top of the plane's fuselage, where we had to literally climb a ladder to enter... That felt like the endless flight to HELL. 😤😤😤🥴😵💫🫡 #USAF

Many, many years ago I flew JAL First Class from Narita to San Francisco. Very nice flight. JAL cabin crew met every need of me and my fellow passengers.
I had a first class seat at the front of the B747 and what was really nice was a curtained bed on the upper deck. Slept great, awakened by flight attendant and served a meal back at my seat.
Along time ago but I will never forget Japan Air Lines and this flight.
IN this life, there will be no chance. Thank you for sharing this amazing journey.

I was surprised at how happy I was to see you coming in to land at Narita. It was dark when I landed there a few years back, but the thought of going back to Japan excites me so much. I loved every moment I was there. First class is way too expensive for me, but we managed to get first row seats by an emergency exit and had about six feet of leg room. That made the 14 hour flight tolerable!

Solo-san! Solo san! Can you do a video on some of the most luxurious Japanese trains? Things like Train Suite Shiki-shima, Nanatsuboshi in Kyushu, and Twilight Express Mizukaze etc! I'd love to see more train travels Thanks for the video as always!
Ok, my two cents, as an italian food enthusiast, about some typical western exclusive food:
- Caviar. This one is maybe the most iconic, and one of the hardest to like. It's an acquired taste. You won't be ready for the saltiness. Much better with blinis, boiled egg, maybe minced raw onions, that balance the saltiness. It goes well with bubbles, but trust me, try vodka instead of champagne with it. You may love it.
- Lobster. Everyone loves lobsters. I think the small ones from the mediterranean are the best I ate. Thai tiger shrimps are amazing, too. Also carabinersos/jumbo shrimps are great, we have them in the sea next to sicily.
- Truffle. There's huge difference within low quality truffle, and high quality ones (white from Alba, north/west italy). But you'll probably not like it, at least the first times, because of its smell and flavour, extremely earthy, and a bit like methane gas. The white one is very expensive, soft, rich, almost creamy, but the taste is very strong.
- Oysters: like a spoon of sea water, some say. I love'em, expecially the european round ones, the belon oysters. But many people see not much besides the sea water taste, and the extreme sliminess can be a problem for many. Don't let me catch you pickin' an oyster with your fork, you sever the small muscle that holds it to the shell, then let it slip in your mouth straight from the shell!
Foie Gras: it's force fed goose liver, a french delicatessen. It works well on a Rossini filet/tournedos, because it gives the best with brandy and truffle, but it has a oretty weird buttery taste, and also a weird consistency. But a Rossini fillet will easily be the most expensive item on a menu, consider you may not enjoy it.

We visited Japan via cruise from Vancouver. Was 15 days long and we got into really bad storm near Russian islands. But never the less had a lot of fun on the cruise. Japan since then one of my favorite countries. Thanks for video.

My dad flew me first class from Korea to Seattle with a transfer in Tokyo when I was 12 or something in the late 90’s. He drew me a map on a napkin because I was flying solo to get through the air ports. Different times indeed. I remember Haagandas, caviar and a little rose inside of a plastic sealed vase. Very comfy pillows as well. Cool experience.

Damn apparently I'm not the only one, exept that personally my flight was in business and I was only 7yo, because of my young age and the fact my mom chose air france, I was in a group of few kids and a flight attendant accompained us to the airplane. That was a strange feeling to be the only folk heading to the front of the plane cuz the flight attendent littlerally left the other kids going to their seats by themselves for me to get guided to mine. (I also had a transfer at Paris and during the first short flight I made some new friends because the only class in the a320 I took was economy, then I had to leave my new friends few hours later xd)
idk about international but even now you have to be at least 12 to fly solo for domestic flights depending on the airline.
Which is honestly insane lmao. I wouldnt trust my kid to the entire world pretty much, they bound to get kidnapped.

What an amazing trip you went on. The amount of planning to get it all done in one run plus whatever hotels you stayed at. You went from Toronto all the way West, then all the way South. I'm sure there were some bus trips we didn't get to see (I don't blame you), but wow, I am amazed at what you did.
