    suggest to add one tea spoon of Lemon Salt, it will have the same effect on the deposits with less effect on the mesh!!!

    I have wondered about this product and been doing some research. Basically it's two pieces of stainless steel mesh with electricity connected. one vire to each mesh pice. (+ and - ) and a gap between the two mesh pieces that makes tiny micro bubbels when turned on. How effective it is i am unsure of.what would you say trutfully?? from a scale of 1 to 10 there 10 is the best. Oh and you dont have to buy a new "reactor" when its used up,,just change the mesh inside with high grade stainless steel mesh and it's as good as new.

      I always used vinegar to clean mine and after 2 years I noticed no bubbles coming out of it. So I took it out and upon examination found out the top mesh was ok but the bottom mesh was brittle and fell apart. I made my own mesh screens out of stainless steel splatter screen and replaced the ones in my reactor and now it works same as when I bought it .

    Thanks. I’d rather use your method than use bleach.
    How often do you clean it with vinegar? Do you leave it running 24/7? If not how long do you have it on for? Do you take it out and rinse in aquarium water with each water change?

    I could really
    use some help with troubleshooting. I bought two of these online for my 360
    gallon planted aquarium. They don’t come with a troubleshooting guide. Both
    have worked great for 2 weeks. Today one started beeping continuously. I went
    to check it and it seemed very warm compared to the other one next to it. I
    unplugged it completely and plugged it back in 3 hours later. It started
    beeping again and doesn’t stop. It’s like it’s stuck. No circular lights, no
    lights at all. I have tried holding the power button down, nothing… Can you
    suggest what to do? Thanks I could really use some help trouble
    shooting. One of mine decided to do nothing but beep after a week of
    use. No lights come on, no spinning lights, nothing. It just
    continues to beep constantly. I have unplugged it for over several hours. I

    • @aarafin
      @aarafin Před 5 lety +1

      Honestly. When I got this one, I was very sceptic. However there was good off price so decided to try. Had really hard troubles with algae. Less than in a week there was noticeable result. In a month NO more algae. Chemically its the same as to put CO2 system.. just less complicated and cheaper.

    does the vinegar corrode the plastic or the rubber of the cable ?

    • @FilmomentumCanadaOttawa
      @FilmomentumCanadaOttawa Před 3 lety +1

      Thanks for your comment! Not that I have ever noticed: I haven't ever seen any damage on the cable. It doesn't get rid of ALL the crust, and the crust builds up a bit faster than when the unit is new, but it is a good way to save some money on these parts.
