- Rishi Sunak has called an election for July 4 - earlier than most people thought.
Mr Sunak had repeatedly insisted that the election would be taking place in the second half of the year, which many assumed would mean some time in the Autumn.
But here Nick Ferrari is joined by LBC's Political Editor Natasha Clark to analyse why the prime minister has decided to go now and not later in the year.

Rishi expects to be wiped out, before thrown out.
'It's not going to get any better..' - Aren't the politicians in control of whether it gets better? ha
yeah but tories dont want to help anyone but themselves and their donors.

No, the civil service are who’s really in control
We have 2 main political parties, 2 main oil companies, 3 main energy providers, 4 main insurance companies, 27 flavours of coffee.
We are under an illusion of choice and do nothing about it.
Wrong. But nice try
But “immigration” isn’t falling, it only fluctuates due to weather
True
It does increase when Tory governments remove the agreements that determine legal from illegal & the controls that govern the latter, though. So there is that.🤔
Immigration is falling … rules were changed to reduce by 140,000
You’re thinking “illegal” immigration, aka small boats
@@kevoreilly6557 the topic is about the illegal ones.
It will never fall. This is the bottom of the jar.

Not voluntarily they did not.

They’ve chosen the 4th July because ALL students move in and out of uni accommodation on 30/1st July so it becomes more difficult to vote!
What? Students can’t vote because they have to move home? What an excuse! Aren’t they the ones who are camping on the streets and shouting Free free Palestine? Why do they even need uni accommodation? Can’t they sleep in the streets?
Self-Servatives till the END...
Although students usually vote for left wing parties, they rarely vote in significant numbers. Most elections are carried by 40-70 year olds
Students can & should apply for postal votes!
@@patmcdermott4832 that’s the problem. If they’re in between accommodation then you can’t apply for it…

I know how busy life is but I do I wish there was some sort of political test that everyone who wanted to vote has to take in order to vote so no one is ignorant of the facts of the country before voting. the public's take on this election is deeply worrying and terrifying.
I’m American and find this extremely interesting. I wonder what the outcome will be? What’s the feeling in the UK?
Labour & SNP coalition will win. Huge tax rises. More woke nonsense. Less free speech. Economic collapse.

Nobody cares here any more the 2 parties largely do the exact same thing as they are both directed by corporate financiers, so we all now either vote for the least worst snake oil salesman or just don't vote, politics is largely just the media and twitter arguing amongst themselves now. He was never voted into power by the public.

Doesn't matter when he holds the GE. It's a gamble. And it is no more of a gamble holding it in July or later in the year. He has to hold before a certain date.
And whenever he holds it, with that limit not so far away, the odds are not in his favour.

The comforts and freedoms (in comparison) are being taken for granted and there isn't a reasonable challenging debate when deliberating key factors for a country's economy outlook. To the outside world Rishi Sunak is the most promising answer to solve the country's issues both in the short- term and long-term. This election will be quite telling. This is a caution to all citizens to obtain futher information and knowledge of facts and records that indicate a country is doing well. Your current Prime Minister is hardworking and speaks to a high percentage of problems, finding solutions and resolving it with success over a short period of time.
