Best Tempura @ Tempura Shinjuku Tsunahachi Ginza 天ぷら新宿つな八 銀座店

Today, we explored Ginza, Tokyo's upscale shopping district renowned for its high-end shops and pedestrian-only main street on weekends. There's an abundance of dining choices, and we found ourselves at Heart, craving tempura. Many popular spots had long lines, but we stumbled upon one with a private dining area, quieter and more relaxed. It was located in a department store on the 8th floor, possibly Shinjuku Tempura Tsunahachi Ginza.
We opted for three different tempura sets: a tendon set, a Sakula set with 11 pieces of tempura, and a Yanagi set with 9 pieces. Each set included Japanese prawns, sea eel, squid, and vegetables like eggplant, potato, and kakiage (squid and prawn cake). The tempura had a fresh, light, crispy batter, perfectly cooked with juicy interiors. The sauce had a delightful hint of sweetness, complemented by grated radish that balanced the flavors and cut through any grease. The pickles provided a refreshing contrast to the richness of the tempura and rice.
The meal was thoroughly enjoyable, and we loved the relaxed atmosphere of our private seating area amidst a full restaurant. It made for a peaceful and exceptional dining experience. I highly recommend visiting a tempura shop when in Tokyo-it's one of our favorites for its fresh, crispy food made to order. Enjoy your meal!
