  • Reformation occurs when the light of God’s Word shines into places of spiritual and cultural darkness and transforms the people of God. This is why the motto of the Protestant Reformation became “After Darkness, Light.” This session sets the stage for the conference by considering why reformation was needed in the sixteenth century and why it is needed today.

What a supreme orator for Christ! - be of good comfort, Christian: whilst Christ's Church continues to be voiced by such as Michael Reeve and all at Ligonier in the calibre of the saints of old, we need not fear looking into this culture's dark abyss. Rejoice in the light of His glorious Truth...allelujah!

Why does Michael Reeves say that Jonathan Edwards was a British theologian. I heard Michael say this once before.
Jonathan Edwards was an American Puritan Theologian. Edwards was born in East Windsor, Connecticut. Perhaps
Michael is jesting because the name of Edwards hometown was called East Windsor.
    Just thinking 🤔

Perhaps just jesting or teasing in general. As a Presbyterian, we sometimes jokingly (but not necessarily) say the Bible confirms the Presbyterian church structure, which is representative and federal rather than congregational like Baptists. Either way, I am confident a man with Dr. Reeves credentials knows Edwards was American. But it should be granted, Edwards was born and lived in an English colony as an English citizen, not as a United States citizen. The Revolution itself had as a cause the effort to regain the rights as Englishmen that were then under attack by Parliament.

"Sinners are not loved because they are attractive," kinda puts paid to Leighton Flowers idea of "choice meats." (For those who aren't familiar, Flowers is a noted neo-Pelagian who claims saints are elected because there's something in them that God finds pleasing. His channel is Soteriology101.)
