"...a train that last forever.." I love their perfect descriptions!
Pink Floyd becomes more and more meaningful and relevant as you age. And I think their music is more relevant today than it was a decade ago. Theyâre timeless!! Love you guys as always â€
60 years old ,musical awakening was punk ,always loved live at Pompey, but tbh ,that's the small dose I can take, find them boring .
@@keithevans9544 Iâm 45 years old and thatâs an absolute shame imo.
@@kristinaveirum world would he really boring if we all had the same taste, just the majority of their work leaves me kind of meh.
@@keithevans9544 Yes it would but it doesnât change that I think itâs a shame.
@@het53 Yes itâs so important that their music makes it into the next generation and the next generation etc! Iâve luckily passed it on to my daughter. Sheâs almost 24 years old and Pink Floyd is her absolute favorite band đđŒ
In this song we notice how much is strong and loud the voice of David Gilmour in addition to the back vocals voices ,and we notice the high level of emotion too. This is Pink Floyd.
Quite simply a group of geniuses creating masterful music.
No other band can match them . The list of their masterpieces is so long, Brain Damage , Have a cigar , Not no John , Lost for words , One slip , Hey you , Coming back to life etc.
We still have to listen to the arguably greatest of all Floyd-songs, DOGS from the Animals-album (1977). Maybe IÂŽll request it đ
100%. Dogs from the Animals album is my favorite Pink Floyd. But it's really like trying to pick a favorite child.
I made that request Friday. One of my favs. And albums from PF.
Albuns apart, the greatest masterpiece by PF is Echoes. Dogs is close, agree.
Yet another marvellous reaction of yours to Pink Floyd.
Excellent recognition of the backing singers, too
I know youâve reacted to Great Gig in the Sky, but try out the PULSE LIVE version, which really shows off the backing singersâ talent, to the point where Gilmour has finished playing and just watches Claudia Fontaine finish her set đđđđ
I still prefer the DSOT version.
"Dogs of War" mercenaries and governments, that start, provide, want war. EX. " Oliver North & the Iran Contra Scandal " Invisible Transfers (money) "long distance calls" hollow laughter in marble halls ( white house & pentagon ). Fan since 1989. Dave & Polly wrote a passionate song about a soldier coming home from war and dealing what he had done. A women sat next to me crying saying this happen to her son, couldn't he handle it and decided to leave this world. Dave solo guitar at the end sounds his pain. "Live Pompeii " In any Tongue" Dave 3 rd best solo, powerful !!!!!
YES! I've been requesting "In any Tongue" forever lol.
This is from " The delicate sounds of thunder" show. The entire concert is amazing!
Pink Floyd is perfect, Magic and Art.
Hey guys. It makes me so happy to see how much pleasure you both get from listening to and watching Pink Floyd.
I have been lucky enough to see them live many, many times and I was there for the live Pulse recording and I went to the Delicate Sound Of Thunder shows 3 times.
Yeah, greedy, I know đ
Anyway, keep on enjoying it and Iâm looking forward to more from you in the future.
Much loveâŠ
Hi guys (Teresa here) Brilliant reaction, as always. I know this has a slightly different sound to most of the Pink Floyd stuff youâve reacted to so far but Iâm so glad you enjoyed it.
You're absolutely right. Backing singers are very important in Pink Floyd songs and Pink Floyd know it and give them unprecedented space very often. It started with The Dark Side, where subtly but clearly female backend vocals transition from one song to the next (Time + The Great Gig). And very often in concerts all the musicians sing - at some points they form a massive vocal orchestra. The icing on the cake is the choreography that the backing singers perform at the concerts. Everything is perfectly coordinated...
And I don't think David Gilmour was angry. I think it's the way of speaking (musicians have to be actors, so to speak) on the subject. This is a serious - war theme (by the way, the best anti-war song for me is "Us and Them"), so he wants and needs to look angry. It's certain that he's smiling in the following song ;-).
You give me dogs of War.
I give you hugs of joy .
Such a nice pair you are.
Thankyou for you hard work and love you put into every video.
Be safe x
Thank You Thank You Thank You Thank You Thank You for reacting to Dogs of War. Been asking you guys to do it and FINALLY.. I knew you would love it. Congrats to another brilliant REACTION
5am from DGâs solo album Rattle That Lock
High Hopes from the Division Bell album I also think youâll love ⊠(that entire album is actually fabulous)
Pink Floyd is like the Beatles in the fact that your favorite song is the last one you listened to. Every time. It can change every hour.
Always loved this track, and especially this version, made even better by seeing Rachel Fury đ
Gilmour's solos are all following the same framework, and he hits several phrases at key moments, but I have never heard him play a song exactly the same twice. He composes his solos by singing over the track first, then matching his strings to his voice.
Another wonderful reaction from you two!
At one point, you mentioned some people have said Pink Floyd doesn't improvise. That's actually 100% wrong. Every solo, whether it be guitar, keyboard, sax, etc, are all improvised. I have many, many bootlegged concerts of the Floyd and from day one to the end, every solo is different aside from the first solo in Comfortably Numb. That one's a staple. Whoever has said they don't improvise doesn't know the band
Quite true, especially David, seen hundreds of versions of Comfortably numb, and he's always doing something different
You need to look back at your own reaction to this to see your joy and excitement đâ€
This is my favorite song off this album. I got to hear it live in Germany in 1988 and when we were in the Gulf and crossing the Iraqi border in 1991 I was playing this song full blast
you will sing this song in hell
The back up singers sound especially beautiful on The Great Gig in the Sky from the Pulse concert.
Also, when you mentioned how Pink Floyd can evoke a feeling or image, you're absolutely right. I believe they're unparalleled in this regard. There are parts in Shine On You Crazy Diamond that sound like light twinkling through a faceted diamond (I know that sounds weird), some of the guitar hits in Sheep sound like blades, it's amazing.
Btw, I hope all parts of Shine On You Crazy Diamond are on your PF playlist. đ
Hi @MerchantOfAlba you are a nice pair (so they called a double album of two good records from one band in the eightiesđ) ! I really like your comments to a few of your reactions and of course all of the P.F. songs. Thanks for sharing this very cool live performance and of course the of the very good playing sax player because he made the live atmosphere a bit more happier as the song was. What a great performance. Thanks for sharing and best best wishes @you all folks - from HH (germany)
Congratulations, you guys found one of the over-looked hidden gems from this great 1987 Delicate Sound of Thunder concert. Check out two other standouts from this venue: the back-up singers incredible job on The Great Gig In The Sky, and also the song, One Slip. The other standout is On The Turning Away, as you saw when you reacted to it. The other songs are also wonderful, but in my opinion they're eclipsed by the band's 1994 versions in that fantastic Pulse concert (which you've been reacting to a lot). There are two reasons for this eclipse: 1) the sound and light show technologies improved tremendously in those 7 years, and 2) the band honed its craft to an even greater degree, hard as that is to believe. Still, their more youthful passion shines through in this great 1987 gig.
I love it when you react to Pink Floyd. It's amazing how every song seems to be even better live.
Thank you, I enjoy watching your reactions a great deal. I have been a Pink Floyd fan for nearly 50 years, not continuously, but I love to rediscover them from time to time. A trivial thing, so many reviewers talk about "back-up singers" like they are spares, they are in fact "backing singers". You may enjoy "See Emily Play", a very different sound, prior to David Gilmour replacing Syd Barrett.
Great song, has a blues vibe about it.
saludos, me encanta su forma de sentir a pink floyd, Pink Floyd, the best band ever
I'm 68 and have been listening to Pink Floyd since I was 14-15 and they are without a doubt my favorite band alltime.
love Gilmourâs vocal in this songâ€
Amazing amazing performance as always đđđ no more to say great reaction both
As a hugh floyd fan for over 50 years this is the most underrated song for them ever. The backup singers are so key to how superb this is
I first heard Pink Floyd when I was about 15 (now 62) and have enjoyed their music so much and the enjoyment doesn't change over time which is because you experience it not just hear it and I feel so fortunate to have had so much of this magnificent music in my life for so long...and with more to go yet my enjoyment is far from over.
Multi dimentional, between the lead, back up and the music itself! As always, I love your reaction! Pink Floyd is So Much FUN!đą
I love your reaction videos! More, in fact, than any other Pink Floyd reaction videos here on CZcams (and I search out and watch all of the Pink Floyd reactions)! You are genuinely enjoying their music. I especially like the fact that you watch the live performances of the songs, too. Would really like to see your reactions to some of Floyd's other albums, such as 'Animals'. Honestly, if I wasn't just a poor old retired American man, I would give you buckets of money, just to watch your honest reactions to Pink Floyd's eternal style of truly human, mind-guiding music. Thank you for what you do...for me and everyone of your many fans.
I bet you guys didnât know David Gilmore can also play saxophone and keyboards and numerous other instruments as good as the pros
He is spoon frigin talented.
Always look forward to your Floyd reactions. You should try some of Davidâs solo stuff, A Boat Lies Waiting is a must!
DAMN....I LOVE ROCK N ROLL!!!
awesome reaction to Pink Floyd as always! thank you for reacting to this performance...priceless! I've learned more about Pink Floyd's music this year than ever before...thanks for sharing!
yes PF are a band in your life for life once you hear them you can never remove their influence! as music should be, it fluctuates over time in trends but some music like the PF experience transcends time. love your love of PF
I remember seeing them perform this at MSG gin New York City. Got totally freaked out by this song was in a total state by this time in the concert and my cousin had to hold me through this. What a time!!!
Great reaction you guys...I also detect Dominika is developing a bit of a crush on David Gilmour lol
Always love to see you two doing reactions, Pink Floyd's music is open to interpretation and is more of a journey of the mind put to music . â and †from Tuscaloosa Alabama
Thank you for mentioning the background singers....they are the best of the best!!!
this is a very well crafted blues, cause uncle Dave is at heart a bluesman , and a very good one
Hi guys love to watch you 2. This album ANIMALS is a work of music art just like all their albums, again guys grouse(aussie word for fantastic) music to listen to going for a country drive at night time.Peter
Hi guys thanks for reading my comments, there is so much fantastic Aussie music from the late 60s, 70s and first half of the 80s you probably haven't heard. Music from around the world in that era has made my life, PINK FLOYD, BLACK SABBATH with OZZIE as singer, LED ZEPPLIN so much more, did you guys see my mention of COLD CHISEL Last Stand DVD concert it's absolutely a buzz. Till next time guys all the best to you both Peter
this and learning to fly were my first taste of pink floyd when i was a kid, before i heard any of the earlier stuff.. and though the earlier songs were more exciting and interesting to me when i got into the wall and such, this later 80s era had the fullest sound, and the best backup singers for sure
I have lisen to Pink Floyd 50 year
It,s more then perfekt, marvellous đŻđžđ„Gilmour Pink floyd đŻ
Dogs from animals 1977
I'm hoping you take the opportunity to react to the songs from the Animals album. Those songs are a bit different in that there is more angst in the lyrics. As always the music and the soundscape the PF guys create with Animals is out of this world. Also, please give some consideration to checking out the Live in Gdansk version of Echoes.
The entire album is a masterpiece!
My absolute most favourite Pink Floyd Concert
Parts of it were better than PULSE.
Discuss.
Just as relevant as it has ever been. The cry of humanity to end the insanity.
One of the first and best song from the album A MOMENTARY LAPSE OF THE RAISON
Its a dark side of Pink Floyd you haven't heard before. No one reacts to this song so Great job :)
I remember the first time I listened to their Ummagumma album. It was during their more psychedelic and experimental era. One of longest and weirdest song titles ever......."Several species of small furry animals gathered together in a cave and grooving with a pict".
I think maybe there were certain substances being consumed at that point in their careers đ.
This is where they learned their art. This is where they learned about how to loop tapes and create sounds, effects and atmospheres to provoke images in peoples minds, and they've been doing it ever since. Pure masters, pure gurus of the senses.
I just realized that I hadn't subscribed to your channel. I've now corrected that oversight.
You do very well trying to describe your feelings in a foreign language. We all know what you mean and describing Floyd isn't easy for anyone.
Much love from England, home of the best bands ever created.
âïžâ„ïžđŹđ§
Was blown out of the water when I first heard this song, so much so that I think I will say my favourite by them. That statement is my personal choice as they have so many unbelievablely good ones
Just subscribed. You two make me smile! Pink Floyd is more than a band, they're pure art! They move me.
The middle background singer is called Durga McBroom who had a hit (Naked In The Rain) with her band Blue Pearl in 1990.
It takes a lot to outshine David's guitar, but that sax player's mullet is the star of this one lol!
Love this couple. Andre is like a big teddy bear under that gruff exterior đ Keep it up you two. Hello from the UK đŹđ§
I always felt this masterpiece of a song kind of picks up where Animals left off. Itâs the same message. Tyranny, and oppression but on a Global Level. They will take and you will give, you must die so that they will live.
This is such a great album! Thanks to your reactions it's back in rotation on my music list. Also you'll find the backing vocals feature heavily on this album.đ
Talking of Dogs; Their Animals album is amazing. Pigs - The fat cat oligarchs. Dogs - the cut-throat businessmen. Sheep - us.
Absolutely fantastic. Great reaction guys.
love this, nobody ever reacts to it...great reaction.
U guys should listen to more of their studio stuff also
I think you liked this as itâs one of Floydâs âheavier / angryâ songs.
Fully recommend *One Of These Days* (PULSE LIVE), with a similar heavy sound, although only one lyricâŠ..
ALSOâŠ..canât believe you havenât reacted to *Shine On You Crazy Diamond I-V* yet!!!!
Please do the album / video version first to get the *true* majesty đ
Hi dominica... GREAT REACTION đđđđđ... Listen to "" "RUN LIKE HELL" "BY PINK FLOYD... PULSE VERSION... ITS A GREAT SONG.... GREATTING FROM COSTA RICA â€â€â€â€â€â€â€â€â€â€â€â€â€â€â€â€
The three backings are Durga McBroom, Rachel Fury (Rachel Brennock,) and MacHan Taylor. Each have their own very distinctive voice (as you can hear on The Great Gig in The Sky). I had the concert video on VHF and almost worn it up back then (89-92). And had a little crush on Rachel Brennock :D Its a great concert, the video is very well produced. And then P.U.L.S.E. came along :D (which Durga McBroom also appears on)
Although Pulse is a visually superior concert, The Delicate Sound of Thunder, imho, is a superior musical performance. I still love Pulse, though, but this concert offered tight musicianship!
Two in one week! we are spoiled, wait till you get to the really good stuff from Floyd!
"What do you want from me....."
Hello guys. I would like you to listen to "Dogs". The lyrics of this song are very meaningful and I would like your comments. You are very nice, bye!
One of my favorites! Qeensryche did a cover of this song and it was fantastic!
Hello †losten pink floyd "dogs"
Ce qui est interessant, c'est que les premiÚres années PF improvisait constamment sur scene, certains morceaux duraient plus d'une demi-heure et ne pouvaient pas etre enregistrés sur une face de vinyl (cela depassait la capacité du support)...
Surely the saxophone player won the award for best mullet in '88?
Play the song "FEARLESS" early song off the Meddle Album
You mention the back-up singers, in my ears this is the best they have had on their tours. Most people only listen to live performances from the Pulse-tour in 1994, but i prefer this Delicate sound of thunder from 1988. These singer does the best version on The Great gig in the sky that has ever been done live and if you havent listened to it yet, i put a link to it here. In 1994 during the Pulse tour the whole concert was more "controlled", if you understand what i mean. Back in 1988 it was a bit more raw, and Dogs of war wasnt on the setlist for Pulse. But as i mentioned, if you havent heard The great gig in the sky version from these back-up singers, do yourself a favour and react to it, included the intro On the run: czcams.com/video/UfafIeK9sJw/video.htmlsi=_1aapt7Qw24vtL90&t=4533
" Unleash the dogs of war ... " [ I think possibly " Let slip ... " rather than unleash, it's translation ] is an old quote from Shakespeare. But, we have all come to learn what it means.
Cry, âHavoc!â and let slip the dogs of war. (William Shakespeare)
You need NEED react to the "other part of Pink Floyd": Roger Waters..... Roger Waters "Dogs" or "Pigs (Three Different Ones) LIVE on the Zocalo MĂ©xico City 2016!!!
Rachel fury đ„°đ„°đ„°đ„°đ„°
That dress them gloves
That voice â€â€â€â€â€â€
Hi ! All the Delicate Sound is a Master Piece ! (To me of course ) better than Pulse, is more close, more Pink Floyd (once again to me of course) please check it all and say what do you think !
May I suggest "In Any Tongue" but do the official video. In that video, at almost the 5 minute point, David plays a solo and starts it with a sound that almost sounds like the guitar is screaming in pain. It is an anti-war song and one of the best. I say the official video because David has not been able to reproduced that sound of the guitar screaming in pain in a live concert.
đ€
Saludos desde MĂ©xico, reaccionen a terminal frost
Please do live 8 reunion
This is the one floyd track that is better on the studio version, you should react to that.
because they interrupt the song at its important point they have to improve that
He has 8 kids.
No puedes, igualarte a waters ,el es alma de pink floyd el 97,% de la creacion es de el,ywilmour pierde la escencia del sonido de pink floyd
To much talking during the pauses, please keep it short and simple.
Watch the version live at VENICE (IN ITALY, NOT SHIT IN LOS ANGELESđ)....They're playing on the water, the stage is on the water, and peoples are on the St Marco's place, and on boatsđAnd the live version is phenomenal....The best version i have, is in Japan, but, i'm 43 years old, i only have K7, and vinylsđI can't upload it on the internet, sorry....Peace from France âïž
if you like theese singers trio, try "The Great Gig In The Sky" (live from Venice.. Its much better than perfect studio version..even better than live Pulse version)
love Gilmourâs vocal in this songâ€
