    Your video is one of the few I found to make a scrap bag. When I goggled it it kept bringing up bags made OF scraps and not bags made FOR scraps.
    Nice tutorial. I think I have a hoop in the stash. I will be making something similar using your tutorial as inspiration. Thanks and great job.

    I like this concept. Especially the ribbon tab to hold it in place. Like the hoop idea, too. Haven't seen that used before. When I make these, I make a channel, like one would use to insert elastic or a drawstring. Then, insert a large plastic ziptie, cut about 2" longer than the circumference of the circle. Easy to remove to launder, then slip back in place.
    Will definitely use your tab idea with the next one I make. Thank you for sharing. Always appreciate seeing new/different ways of doing things!!!!
    PS: FWIW: I have a disposable plastic container that nestles inside the one that I make. Easy to empty the thread nest that accumulates in it.

    Super cute idea! You could also use a length of boning around the outer edge if you made a casing for it.

      I was thinking that too but the hoop seems like it would be a snap to slap together.

    HAPPY NEW YEAR 2019.Great video ,I will be doing this one 🦄😊

  • @insidethepicketfence7445

    That is a great idea! Only thing I would change is I would use a plastic ring and sew it on the mouth permanently so it can be thrown in the wash. :) thanks for sharing girl! Happy sewing!

      I suppose you wouldn't need to tack stitch the inner ring down because the outer ring would hold everything together once tightened with the screw. That way you could remove the rings for laundering.

    Thanks Sherrill for this great project. It is just what I need and what I was planning to make! Also your clearly outlined instructions which I always appreciate from your tutorials.
    If I use a smaller hoop size-say a 5 " instead of 6" ( just because I already have a spare on 5"in diameter-what size would I need to make the fabric circle? Is there a ratio/formula that would enable me to work out the adjustments to fit any size hoop? Also would I need to change the rectangle size as well?

      @TheSewingRoomChannel  Před 5 lety

      Hi Kerrie. Make sure you measure you the diameter of the outside hoop. You want to make sure that the fabric will easily fit over the hoop - so you might want to make it a little bigger to ease it over the hoop. Here is a video that gives a formula for calculating the fabric for the rectangle. czcams.com/video/E_Jfva9ZaAo/video.html Let me know if you have any problems with this and I will try to walk you through it. Thanks for watching and happy sewing.

      Thanks Sherrill for getting back to me so quick.
      I will look at your calculation of fabric video and make sure I measure the outside hoop.
      Thanks for the offer to get back to you for more help if needed.
      Hopefully I will be okay thanks to your help but I will get back to you if I'm still unsure.
