I am an Arab of Christian origins. At the university, I studied classical Arabic and ancient Arabic poetry, which is considered the most difficult type of poetry in the world, because of the power of words and changing their context in the sentence. I graduated with a doctorate in the Arabic language, and a year ago I became a Muslim because of the poetic miracle in... The Holy Qur’an, in which I am certain that no human being can write such poetry, even the best Arab poets, which assured me that only God is capable of coordinating such equal sentences and the beautiful recitative melody in them, as well as the meaning of each word.

      allah said about that:
[This is not what a poet says. You can't believe it. Not according to what the priest said. Little do you remember.]
The special miracle in the Qur’an made the Arabs of Quraish hesitate in their words. Sometimes they said it was poetry and sometimes magic, but they weren't fair.
Until Al-Walid bin Al-Mughirah, the most eloquent of the Arabs and the most knowledgeable of poetry, came out and said:
[I heard words from Muhammad that are neither the words of humans nor the words of jinn. By God, He has splendor and beauty, and His highest is fruitful, and His lowest is abundant in giving, and He is victorious over all things, and nothing can overpower Him, and what humans say.]

Music is a kind of intuitive phenomenon, to create, improve and present it in an art form. Indeed, the art of reading the Qur'an has mandatory rules... but rhythmic sounds are part of the musical element itself. His hand movement was to reverberate his voice into his ear so he can better manage his voice as he recites. He's an iconic Quran recitor, May Allah have mercy on his soul as well as ours and guide us all to his most righteous path.
And to answer your question on what we are supposed to do when we hear a Quran recitation, Allah tells us in Surat Al Araaf - Verse 204 - And when the Qur’an is recited, listen to it (ponder) and be silent that you may receive mercy (which may include but is not limited to understanding the Qur'an).
Qur'an literally means recitation in Arabic. It's not poetry, it's God's message to humankind but it's recited not read. If that makes sense.

That’s one of the miracles of the Quran. The fact that it rhymes like poetry throughout the entire recitation. It was revealed at a time when the Arabs were the leaders in the world at poetry and took great pride in their ability to recite and memorize poems and then the prophet Muhammad came with the revelation of the Quran. Which is why people said he was just a “mad poet” but also why people accepted Islam because they would say it was clear no man would write poetry like this.

Islam isn't a culture, its a way of life. Islam is the teachings that were taught by all the previous prophets like Jesus, Moses, etc. Just that the standpoint of Muslims and the Quran is that the previous teachings were only for the people of that time and place, meanwhile the Quran is the final message of Allah (God), which descended upon the final Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), for the entirety of humanity and time until the end. If you have doubt, look up the most influential persons in History, you'll see our prophet there, this is no fairy tail, read his biography from a credible source. It will all be clear if you can talk to a dawah person or listen to dawah all your questions have answers

It's just not meant for that kind of effect, it's divine word of God, as we believe, and besides anything else, it causes a sense of peacefulness in a meditative sense. The Quran was revealed in an era of “poetry” and eloquence. The Quran is the most eloquent in speech and even gives a challenge to those who challenge the Quran to come up with even a single verse like the Quran, yet to this day not a silage verse has been brought forward.
That is why the rules of Arabic grammar are actually created from the Quran
This is why even those that don’t understand Arabic find the Quran so beautiful and peaceful to listen to

Qur'an was revealed during an era that people used to boost about poetry, so Allah sent the Qur'an over 23 year period to Muhammad SAW, to show people the best poetry and words are words of Allah, and it came to a man that didnt read or write. That is a Miracle of its own. They use hang poetry in Mecca on the Kabbah its self. Then Allah challenged humanity bring something like it, and no one has come close to anything like the holy book of Qur'an.
Qur'an teaches us believe in one and only one God Allah
    Be good to your parents
And obey the Messenger peace_be_upon_him ❤

30:07 "Is it poetry?" One of the many reasons the Quran is viewed as a miracle is because it is neither prose nor poetry; yet by far more eloquent than both according to most literary persons of the time of revelation to today. Its style - not to mention its oceans of depth and meaning - remains inimitable by humans.

Its not music. Music makes you want to get up and dance. Music has instrumentals. Quran isn’t music.
The Quran is a sacred text in Islam, recited in a melodic and rhythmic manner known as Tajweed. It is considered the literal word of God and holds a special place in the hearts of Muslims around the world. While it may not have instrumentals or make you want to dance, the recitation of the Quran is a spiritual experience that brings peace and tranquility to the soul. It is a form of worship and devotion, rather than entertainment like music. The beauty of the Quran lies in its powerful message

Yes quran is written in prose and can be confused with poetry, but quran is a category on its own, it was revealed in Arab literary peak, and it's part of its original success is that it was unparalleled and inimitable. You won't get it as a foreigner but the arabic in Quran is miraculously mesmerizing and you can't but admit it's divine nature.

Regarding your question about poetry, the Quran is in a form of prose which is a combination of poetry and speech. The reason why you can hear a crowd in the background is that public recitations are normally done in mosques which can accomodate several hundred people. The sounds between verses are words of encouragement or praise for the beauty of the recitation.

The person was right. It is described as rhymed prose. It is not poetry, as it doesn’t follow a meter. But the endings of the verses rhyme. There’s only two recognized forms of speech in Arabic, poetry and prose. He/she did not mean disrespect.

Yes the Quran is composed in a poetic way. One reason is that, the Arabs during the time of the Prophet were most proud about their poetry and it had huge impact on their culture. So much so that a good poem could literally defeat a opposing tribe.
But the thing is that the Quran composition is one of its kind as it does not follow any specific way that poetry was written during its time. It was so unique that the professional poets accused the prophet of using magic to write it.

He is my favorite reciter of all time because when I was a child I grew up with his voice and till this day no other reciter takes my soul into such heighten state than his way of recitation. I just love the way he emphasizes with his tone on crucial massages and gently recites others. It gets me extremely engaged and focused on the message.
