Greatly enjoying your podcasts. Did you see the Fruity Knitting interviews with the woman in Sweden who is reviving the Bohus designs - and producing angora blend yarns from her own rabbits, matching the original colors...fascinating.
I just found your podcast and love your manner and information you provide on projects! And now I know you lift weights! Please do a video on how you have adapted garments to your body shape (muscly back and small chest) I have same issue! 💪😊
I was so excited to come across this podcast - quite by accident. I have recently come back to knitting after 30 years!! Alot of what I did is slowly coming back but there are so many techniques and equipment that I never used so I'm pretty much a beginner knitter - but an obsessed one! I did remember making a Bohus style sweater in the early 60s, though I don't remember that name, just the technique of adding texture to colorwork. I just thought it was so cool, so I searched Ravelry for other patterns like it. I did find one, a free pattern on Ravelry (Kjerstin by Rachel Sogaard) and am knitting it. It was written for worsted weight yarn but I'm using sport/dk weight. I also found a used copy of Poems in Color and hope to try one of those patterns too. Really enjoyed your podcast. I'll be looking up your other episodes. just so happy to find someone else intrigued with the Bohus style...
So glad you found my podcast, I’m happy to hear you’re enjoying it! Thanks for the tip about that pattern, I hadn’t seen that one before. Another newer pattern in the Bohus style is the Lunenberg Pullover by Amy Christoffers, she might have some others as well.
Thank you for sharing. I'm in your camp too, wide shoulders compared to bust. I either can't move my arms or I'm drowning in the top, except for the shoulders & armholes.

I watched this video because of the thumbnail (#lovepockets). The pockets look too narrow to me, on how the garment stretches when being used.
But I love how deep those pockets are.

You could try mirror knitting/knitting backwards instead of purling. I know one of our Swedish colorway designers Anna Baur knits like this :) I'm a Sweden myself. So this was fun to listen to.
Thank you for the tip! I’ve only heard about this technique a few times and never looked into it, but I definitely will. Seems like that could come in handy for a lot of different situations!

I am so happy that you recorded! I always enjoy the detail you put into what you share about your projects. I now incorporate your tip to finish the neckline before doing the sleeves to ensure the correct sleeve length. And so... I am delighted that you hope to record more often. I was knitting on the sleeve of my Solis by Julie Hoover in linen yarn as I was watching you. It is getting hot and humid here in Tokyo so I am looking forward to finishing it. Have a great week!

Oh my. I found your podcast very enjoyable. The narration of each item was of interest and very useful for me especially taking into account my shoulders. I have broad shoulders and the kate davies cardigan is in my ravelry basket. I also find jameson spindrift yarn interesting in its depth ofcolour. Thank you for sharing your makes. ✌️
That blueberry sweater look great! That colour combination completely changed that blue yarn. That is inspiring, I should go through my stash and look if I also can save same yarn that I don't like by holding it together with another colour.

lol Why don't you want mohair in your pits? I have no opinion because the only sweater I have with mohair is loose in that area...although I DO have a couple angora cardigans that fit close and they are alright! ( For the record-don't tell anyone-I tend to sweat a bit! but not while wearing natural fibres).

Hello Mel, I’ve just found your podcast through Selma of LittleBigKnits. My goodness your projects are beautiful! I’ve followed you on Rav too for some inspiration. I loved hearing your comments and opinions on various patterns. So helpful to someone like me in choosing patterns. I’m getting on a bit now and mostly knit socks these days (which I only started knitting about 6 years ago and have progressed from toe up/short row heels to knitting the more traditional top down heel flap and gusset on dpns and really enjoying that more. Thought my garment knitting days were over but you are really making me want to challenge myself again with some colour work. I found out about Bohus Stickning on the Fruity Knitting Podcast where she interviewed the lady with the angora rabbits. Such beautiful work. I think that might be beyond me but I look forward to seeing your cardigan. I kind of like the fact that it’s knitted in pieces. Phew, sorry I feel as if I’ve given you my life story. Off to catch up with your other podcasts. 😁
