- I always knew I was eventually going to paint this bathroom something other than gray as it was just painted with the rest of the house without much thought. I absolutely love dark and moody powder rooms and have been dying to paint a room black but didn't want it in a space where it would be too overwhelming. With not wanting to spend too much money on a small bathroom makeover just painting the bathroom black and decorating a little different with items I already had made such a difference for a budget friendly transformation. I have a 1-bedroom 1-bath condo in a high rise in Chicago and would love an all black bathroom. I am talking black tile from wall to wall, floor to ceiling. Since I am a guy, I really don’t need to worry about doing my makeup in the mirror.
We just renovated our kitchen. We did vanilla glaze cabinetry that has a very thin black outlines within the moulding. Black granite with ivory/taupe/and a hint of green coloring. Just had the backsplash installed and its a mix of black marble and black glass with brass reflecting thin random lines in a herringbone pattern. We did a large farmhouse brushed gold hammered sink and I LOVE IT! We added plenty of lighting to offset the black (dimmers, too) . Sounds confusing, but looks awesome together. The tile runs to the ceiling behind the sink and oven.

Thanks. Respectfully, if you clear silicone the tape, paint won’t come through. And… painting a small room a dark colour is usually all right if you include the ceiling. Thanks again. Cheers.

I just did Tricorn black around my fireplace and I love it. Now I want to do my powder room…..but dark gray or black? My floor is tiled with a tile that is a bit of brownish terra cotta but with some gray in it too and dark gray grout.
Being a bathroom, did you use satin paint?
It's hard to say which color without seeing your floors. I love the boldness of black. But I'd get swatches of both colors and hold them all around even near your floors to see what you would like best! And I actually used matte paint but after living with it for months I would have rather done satin or eggshell!

What finish did you use for the paint?!
I used matte paint but I actually kind of regret it. It shows when u touch it or wipe it down. If I were to do it again I would use eggshell or satin!

I used flat but if I were to do it again I would use eggshell instead! The flat shows marks easily when touched or wiped.

What is the finish..
I did a matte finish but if I were to do it again I'd probably pick an eggshell.
