The Tissot would be my pick it’s a super special watch that does it all and is so refreshing to see.
The 41mm submariner is one of those watches that's even better in person. Purchased one this year gray market. It's incredibly refined, balanced, and wears well. They got the proportions right. People think it's boring, I think it's just because it's so iconic.
I could not agree more!! The timeless and iconic nature of it is what’s always attracted me to it. I don’t really do flashy so boring is just right for me LOL. I think we’re finally at a point where I wouldn’t want to change anything about it too, so perfect for something I don’t ever intend to replace.

I disagree on the proportions part, the ceramic submariners always look off to me, I much prefer the proportions of the older models.
I always love to see other people's watch collections. What they like and collect compared to me. The Submariner is the only watch I own or would own in your collection but that's what makes this hobby fun.
I definitely have a different taste than most! But that’s also what I love about watches. With the exception of the sun and the Grand Seiko all the pieces I like are kind of odd or unique in one way or another!

The SARX is one of the most special pieces I’ve ever owned. And at the price it’s a no brainer. And really great to have for when you want something special that didn’t cost a ton of money.

great collection and very versatile. Coming from Germany I would love to see a German watch as well like a Sinn or a Nomos.

Congrats on the Sub date! I got my Submariner earlier this summer and it’s absolutely beautiful. I prefer the original Sub because of the symmetry and it actually looks smaller when I compared it when I tried on the Sub date. But that’s just me.
I really like the sub without a date but I rely so heavily on that on all my watches that it was something I couldn’t live without. Congrats on getting yours!!
Did you buy the omega and GS at the same AD you bought the sub from?
Nope, I try as much as I can to buy from the manufacturer so the two Omegas came from the same Omega boutique in San Antonio (closest to me in Austin) and I bought the Grand Seiko from Grand Seiko’s online boutique! With Grand Seiko if you buy direct either online or in one of their boutiques, you get an additional year of warranty (from the standard 5 to 6 years)! I did buy the Tudor among a few other pieces I’ve since sold from the same AD, though.

Some crackers there (though I’d personally switch out that Rado for a Rolex Explorer being totally honest)
Thank you! I have to admit the only Rolexes that are of any interest to me are the sub, Datejust, and GMT Master II. The explorer is a terrific watch, it just doesn’t feel any kind of special to me.

for me the Sub is different level to both Omega divers.
I’d consolidate and try to find a good Explorer II and/or Explorer 40 👌🏼
Eh idk if I agree with that. I’m not the biggest Rolex fan, I want a Datejust but that’s about it. Most of their watches feel so boring to me. The Sub and Datejust are rather boring as well but they’re icons.

Hi. Does storing the G-Shock in the same box as the automatic watches affect anything from the point of view of magnetism? I was referring to the fact that Casio has a Bluetooth Multiband signal. Thank you.

Grand Seiko is definitely something special! I’m going back and forth on whether I want to do a datejust or a white birch as a dressy piece. The white birch is just an incredible piece.
@@joshswatches Tough call, datejust are nice looking flashy watches. Defnitely get people's attention. But GS has such a nice dial and movement. I think the GS has the best movement in the business IMO with their spring drives. Smooth as silk. I keep going back and forth on Rolex white dial Explorer II or GS Skyflake as my next watch.
Yessss totally agree with everything you said! And that’s exactly my problem with the datejust too is I don’t want a super flashy watch, I would definitely get it on the oyster bracelet. And I like both the explorer II and the Skyflake. I just love Grand Seiko’s dials and movements.

Nice humble watch collection ❤ You kinda covered all the watch criteria cant really think of anything but maybe save up for a gold day date 😅 if not kill 2 birds with one stone Black GMT master 2 swap out the sub date and Tudor 🤔 but overall great collection dont really need to change anything 👍
Thank you! Honestly the only Rolexes I care for are the Sub, GMT 2, and the Datejust and I’m not a gold kind of person. Also, maybe just me l but I would never wear a GMT on a daily basis so I’d need to keep the sub. And I wouldn’t need to sell anything to afford the GMT 2 if I were to be offered it, so I’d probably end up just adding it. And I think I’d keep the Tudor too because there are places I definitely wouldn’t wear the GMT 2.

Thank you! I’m personally not a huge fan of special edition dials, only because they tend to limit the amount of wear the watch gets. I’m boring and prefer things that are minimalist and classic. I’ve thought a million times about buying a GS Snowflake, for example, but it wouldn’t get much wear.
@@joshswatches meh snowflake ain’t my cup of tea anyway. It’s in the wrong case. Now put it in a 62GS then I’m interested. I agree though if you aren’t comfortable wearing a watch for fear of scratches and wear then best no get it.

What does it mean to complete your core collection at 30 years old? Does that mean you will stop adding watches for the next 30 years, or when you buy other ones they just won't be part of your core collection?
This is something I am sort of struggling with. I am around your age, and there's only 3 more watches I want to get to "complete" my 8-watch collection. I don't really want more watches than that, but I can't imagine myself not buying anymore watches for years to come, and I also can't imagine falling out of love with and selling any of my current watches...
It’s a great question and I’m not sure I have an answer to it! I think it’ll be like what you said. There are a few things I want to add like a GMT Master II and maybe a Datejust. The GMT Master II would probably replace the Tudor, though. Datejust, maybe gets added to it. And a Chanel J12 to replace the Rado. But otherwise I honestly don’t know if I would continue to buy beyond that. If something really caught my eye and I really loved it, then absolutely. I also would never spend $50K on a watch so I’d never buy a Patek or anything like that. So I think from here I’ll be really selective. And maybe spend money on other things like home upgrades or new cars or things like that.

When you get older you will fall down the two tone and precious metal rabbit hole.
Two tone isn’t for me (I’ve already tried that and gold doesn’t do well with my skin tone), but I will definitely do a datejust in white Rolesor when the order books open for them again!

How the fuc# do you get a sub from an AD with no history of buying ?
I’ve bought a few other things from the Ben Bridge that sold me my Sub (Tudor, Grand Seiko, and such), but a GOOD AD won’t actually require that you have a history to buy. More, it’s at their discretion of whether you are someone that they want to have a piece or not. I imagine part of me getting a sub upon asking was that they know I would wear it daily (based on the condition of my other watches that they service) and that I definitely was not in the market to resell. Another wonderful AD that I’ve since bought from with no history said that they don’t just want collectors to have them, they want ordinary people to have them and will sometimes decline a collector so someone who doesn’t have one yet can get their first.

Nope! But I do wear them all day everyday and don’t baby them in any way. And trust me, if you wear your watches on a daily basis like I do, you’d be surprised how many scratches you don’t see until you look at them this closely under super bright lights!

I don’t understand when people spend more than $200 on a G-Shock. It defeats the purpose. Why would anyone spend $700 on a Casio G-Shock? If you have that budget buy a Hamilton.
They probably like the $500 gshock more than the $500 hamilton. Very different watches.
It’s all relative, IMO. Anyone who can afford $500 for a G-Shock should have the disposable income to spend frivolously and so they’re looking for the best of the best G-Shock and $500 for that is nothing in relation to $5K for a Tudor or 10K for a Submarine.
