    Love Winter Crows❤️
Linnie, you mentioned P Buckley Moss patterns, so I wanted to share that I had the pleasure of meeting her in September at her distribution center in Mathews County, VA, where her distribution center is, & she is such a fun, interesting person to talk with. One of her daughters is a daily stitcher & another manages the distribution center. Great women! I have some of the older cross stitch patterns that are hand drawn, but I told her to please talk her daughter into producing new patterns😉
Also, today, 11/30, we have a new needleworks shop opening in Williamsburg, VA, so maybe there’ll be some future retreats🎉
Hope you both have a fabulous week of stitching & fun. Thanks so much for sharing ❤️🪡🧵❤️

That’s what I’m hoping. I did teach my third grandson to use a sewing machine. I gave him my old brother and purchased a singer. He even named them. His is a Betty and mine is a Sally. He took what we use the call home economics in school and he made a pillow duffel bag an apron and stuffed doll to give to children in an hospital. he was the only one who could thread a needle. Girls thought he was cool. So far no needle work yet. I hope you think this is funny but he called cross stitch crotch stitch until i immediately corrected him Boys!!!! Haha😂.

I enjoyed your sharing of stories from back in the day. I started stitching in the early 1980’s. I remember P Buckley Moss. I didn’t stitch any of those patterns but I stitched plenty of other designers. I stitched many Pat and Gloria designs, Dale Burdett designs, and Alma Lynn patterns. In fact I ordered something from Alma Lynn and she actually wrote me a very nice note to go with the pattern. I remember Paula Vaughn designs although I don’t believe I stitched any by her but I had her patterns. I know there were others but I don’t remember them. I have a lot of ornaments from back in the day that go on my cross stitch Christmas. I also stitched some fall and Halloween Mill Hill ornaments from back in the day. At that time they were stitched entirely with beads.i must have had a lot of patience back then. I had so many patterns, magazines and finishing pieces. Then life happened and I gave it all away. So when I came back to stitching in 2014 right before I retired I was amazed at all the changes that had taken place. I swore I would not buy all,the things. Let me tell you how that worked out. My comfort stitching is Priscilla and Chelsea, the Real Housewives of Cross Stitch. But really any stitching for me is comfort stitching. I love my unstitcher. I cut the first stitch and then use the unstitcher. I have less bent needles that way. Thanks for sharing all of your tips and tricks. As always, I really enjoyed your video. Have a great two weeks!

I sent an email of some different ways to use variegated floss. I also use longer lengths of floss, if need be I add a thread conditioner or wax, drop my needle, if those don't work I railroad the next few stitches and then I'm good to go. 👍 I've been stitching since the mid 1970's and love all the new items, tools, gadgets, bling ++++ Fun Video.

Indeed, you're right about the changes that have happened over time to this craft (and others!) I learned to cross-stitch and embroider a good 60 years ago. I began with full-coverage cross-stitch -- only in the early 2000s did I learn about 'samplers' -- when I took a class from Jeannette Douglas in Calgary at Traditional Stitches (a new shop then -- I think it's now in its 24th year!) I wasn't sure at first, but I cottoned on to Jeannette's unique samplers, and then a few years back, fell in love with reproduction samplers and others in that style. As a knitter (63 years now) and quilter (30 years or so), I'm familiar with UFOs, WIPs and frogging, as knitters and quilters use those terms too, as I'm sure you know! I'm not a big SAL (or KAL or QAL) person, but I love to follow whatever others are working on, no matter what particular rabbit hole I've gone down! Best wishes for Christmas and the new year...keep up the comfort stitching!

Wonderful as ladies! Linnie, it was Shellie from antique needle workers who mentioned the portable magnifying light. I was not able to find it, so if you could mention where you were able to purchase it, I would appreciate it.. I learned a great stitch from Jean Farrish - keep a tiny little piece of sponge, wetted, and run floss over it like you would wax. Amazing - I have not had a knot since! I just put my little square of sponge on a little plastic container or pill case. Thanks for all you share!

Hi Renee. Thank you for the compliment. When we downsized I used to put up a lot of trees. So many are themes. After 52 years of being married I have to admit I still collect a new dated ornament. My girls have the same tradition. My oldest daughter put up 13 trees this year and they are gorgeous . I’ve been passing on my collections to them and now they are enjoying. Merry Christmas and enjoy the season ❤

Prairie Schooler is the best. P Buckley Moss. I never stitched one. I have several of her prints. I actually met her. She signed my first print I got of hers. It's called Brothers Three. I had 3 sons she put theirs names on it. I love your video. I still start everything in middle. I started my first counted cross stitch on linen in 1975. I have never stopped cross stitching. I learned to quilt in the 80's. I used plastic pieces and sandpaper with pencil and I did use fabric scissors. I did everything by hand. Love all your pieces.

I use my scissors as well when I have to frog. They have the sharpest point and works better than the unstitcher. I try to be very careful and haven't had a tear yet.
