    The easiest way to attach something to a pipe is weld it on first then make the hole by either using a hole saw or drill and carbide. U will get a way cleaner result and for drilling circular holes with hole saw the part u weld on will be the guide to make a nice hole.

      Where did you get your manifold? Could be a support issue. The weight of the turbo hanging and flexing the turbo manifold itself. This one was made out of schedule 10 stainless tubing, so fingers crossed I don't get a crack issue.

    I need to get a better welding set up! What are you using to do aluminum? What type of gas and rods? I have a big non CRUZE project coming up. You inspired me to make an upgrade to my set up.

    • @cmattdabrat
      @cmattdabrat  Před 2 lety +1

      The AC welder I have, is borrowed from a friend. It's a miller. My normal setup is a Jeg's tig. Wish I would have just sprung for their AC set, because I'm super impressed with their DC tig. Rods depend on what I'm welding really. I'm no pro, so I would have to go back and look, but I got the rods from a local welding supply, and I'm just using pure argon. That's awesome! Keep learning, getting better, and looking forward to what the next project is.

    4:45.. pretty sure that should be in your intake tube before the throttle body and intake manifold.. even if you're using your MAP sensor for tuning I believe the cold start idle (open loop) is controlled (better) off MAF...never seen it in the intake for the turbocharger

    The Spark and Sonic can have the 1.4, and the Sonic can have the 1.8. I believe the 1.4 and 1.8 share mounts and bell housing design so it would be possible to put this into a Spark and have it absolutely RIP

    • @cmattdabrat
