I think Donald glover is a phenomenal example of someone who just poured himself into different passions. He doesn’t try to perfect any of them, but he gives honest and full effort. Sort of hoping to acting/writing, music, and used to be comedy, he’s shown that he’s a multifaceted artist who isn’t afraid to try.
Childish Gambino's music holds a very strange, and special place in my heart. Absolutely love everything he does. The moment it hit me that the guy I was listening to was the same guy who's special I just watched a few months prior, I was very intrigued. I knew he was different, and when I looked more into him I realized this dude is really doing it all. I loved that. He really influenced me when I was younger, in ways that stick with me now. Major respect to this man
honestly I hope so... its crazy tho cause this wasn't the thumbnail I originally went with but I decided this one was better like 5 minutes after I uploaded it
Most artists are multi talented. Jamie Foxx is one that comes to mind. There's also Michael Jackson, Prince, Eddie Murphy, Will Smith, LLCJ, Ice Cube .... Having said that, Donald Glover did it in style. For a long time I thought Childish Gambino just happened to really look like Donald Glover. I was watching old Superman movies when I realised I had never seen Gambino and Glover together.
ehh... Childish gambino is both at the same time though... there's a lot of ppl that are fans of childish gambino and there's a lot of people that are fans of Donald Glover. Chances are if you meet and Eddie murphy they're not gonna say they're a fan of his music, if you meet LL Cool J, MJ, Prince you're probably not gonna talk about their acting. I guess Ice Cube and Will Smith are solid picks but even they didnt do it to the extent of Gambino imo
I’ve been a Donald/Bino fan since Community. I saw the Weirdo standup special and he mentioned that he writes raps on his phone so I looked into his music. I found Camp and thought it was cool. I found Royalty and thought “Oh he’s really nice. Bro can spit and sing a bit”. Then he dropped Because the internet and I was like “Oh no he’s him.” Then Atlanta and Awaken My Love and I realized he’s truly a renaissance man. One of the most talented people of our time. Everything he touches is a fire. His acting, music, writing and directing. I’m a big fan and I wish him nothing but the best personally and professionally. Great video. I just subscribed 👍🏽
Me and your mama is an ode to the desperation and angst that love brings and gently brings you down to how simple and beautiful can be. Its a masterpiece. Took guts to create that.
This is such a well done video. It really highlights the genius who is Donald Glover. You can tell the creator put a lot of time into every aspect of this video: the commentary, the research, the appreciation of the artist. This creator deserves more subscribers!!!
he’s my inspiration i see myself in him he’s deeply passionate about many types of art and not afraid to take time to pursue and explore new ideas i love that about him it really makes him so much more human just not being attached to pursuing one thing and only that forever. i wanna explore my career is many different ways just like him
Donald Glover is just such an inspiration, he inspires me a lot, he is one of the people that aspire me to do everything I want to do and whatever i love doing, try things and so on.
Ive been a gambino fan since i heard camp after watching community, it was so hype everytime he dropped an album and stn mtn/kawaii came out at the lowest point of my life and helped me through it
I remember first discovering Donald from Community when I was younger, and when I chatted with my older cousin about the show he mentioned that he was also an aritst Childish Gambino. Really loved his work but also his ability to evolve and adapt. Atlanta was another show I really enjoyed and Gambino's recent songs really portray such strong messages. Feels like summer and summertime magic are my go to vibe songs, super glad I found out about him
Camp is also apart of The Boys story, the BTI screenplay confirms it through a line at the beggining "you can't live your life on a bus" which is said at the end of Camp.
Because The Internet and Atlanta are my favorite pieces of media Glover has ever made, hes a legend and I hope ppl give him more credit than he deserves 🙏

In a way he didn’t break the system just stayed within its confines to boost himself, you’re not playing the system if you’re still in it lol, but eventually he definitely did get outside of the system
I’ve watched “This Is America” again and again and again and think it’s truly a MASTERPIECE production and if you watch the response video, RESIDENTE, they’re perfect to watch back to back on a loop.
This is a great video, I was never really interested in Childish Gambino until your video came into my recommended and now, I’m genuinely interested in his music, Thankyou 🙏
Out of pocket calling Me and your Mama a horror/Halloween song?? Its about the emotions of having a baby with someone that you love but aren't sure you will work out with because that question will always be in the back of your head. Are we really in love or are we just having a child together and what is that going to spell out for our future and the future of the baby? He hopes it works out and you hear that when he says that "the mama" really has a hold on him but that fear is manifested in that evil laugh and tone during the transition, that transition also can be interpreted as the transition the relationship went through when they found out they were pregnant and all the fear kicks in, before that its all chill and lovely, listen to what they say over and over again until that transition takes place and put yourself in his shoes. NOTHING to do with Halloween. LOL
Very well made video! But oh boy! There's a whole era of his that you didn't mention. He made several mixtapes before Camp and also made music under the name mc DJ. Though this material may not be everyone's cup of tea, it's certainly worth listening to once! PS - This ain't a promotion, but you can find his first mixtape on my channel :D

He is literally the definition of jack of all trades. He writes and produces, makes his own music, acts, and does standup. AND HES GOOD AT ALL OF THEM
Subjective, personally I think his stand up is lame but I quite like his writing / production work.
