Clare Cole ... Watch her on "American Idol." She calls herself "Just Sam," and she just made it to the top 20. She could win it this year. The judges like her, so I think that she will advance to the top group, who will get to go on the tour at the end of the competition. She is a REALLY NICE person. I think that she will go far.

I just heard Sam on the 2 train headed back to Wall St. for work after lunch. What an amazing experience. A total stranger started singing with her. A beautiful thing to have the ability to bring joy to a subway car full of strangers. Keep it up Sam! And thank you!!!

My 24 year old Son, who has severe Cerebral Palsy, just feel in love with her genuine voice. "Trust" when I say, that Brandon listens from a special place , deep within his heart & Soul. Music has been a particular way for him to deal with his severe disabilities.
As his lucky Mother , I'm so greatful to have stumbled upon this young woman. She genuinely blessed my Son's searching SOUL!

Word is that her father (where she got her last name Diaz) was Dominican or Puerto Rican. And that even though she doesn’t speak Spanish she heard it in her early childhood. Singing that Selena song at the Hawaii Idol shows was brilliant.

Can’t wait to see her start making original recorded music. I really hope she does a lot of it. Being a working singer since such a young age shows a good work ethic, and that takes so much courage to get up in front of strangers like that, who are probably skeptical and don’t want to be bothered. Hustler to legend? And thank you to the documentary makers, too, for getting this brave amazing woman / or however she ultimately chooses to identify story and face out there to a wider audience, which I’m sure either directly or indirectly lead to the eventual exposure on American Idol.
Great comment. We don’t know in terms of gender/sexual identity how Sam will choose to identify in the years ahead... but we can expect to see singles, an EP or album relatively soon because winning idol she gets a contract with Hollywood Records!
