Definitely gives it a updated look. I remember when I did mine back in my 95 Z28. Such a huge difference with driving the car.
At first, I thought that this is just a gauge overlay. Anyway, I was considering setting up the instrument cluster to be backlight any time the engine is running so that the stock gauges would be easier to read in the daytime. I like what you did better.
Protip. Install an add a fuse circuit in fuse location #37 to illuminate any dimable accessories to the dash. No need to splice.
Great video man. It definitely freshened it up. Easier than I thought to get in there too! I had never looked into getting into that area. I have some aftermarket bezels on my mustang that I don't really like that someone else put on. I'll definitely be checking into something like this. A great opportunity to clean the dirt from around the hole for the trip button too! 😂
Thank you! Definitely a lot easier than you’d think!
Killer video man, had no idea it was that easy to as those on
Thank you! Not a big job at all!
Man I remember those days ..... you took me back bro to year 2000 😢
I had to double take to make sure it said 2 days ago not 20 years ago 😅
Man I appreciate that! Really means a lot!
Earned a new sub my guy
Thank you so much! Glad to have you here🫡
It looks like those guages are connected together when puting on to break them up are they pre cut and peal apart or did you have to use an exacto knife or something to seperate them?
These are so badass but their sold out currently.. I’m waiting to grab mine.
Did you find it anywhere else ?
I’ve looked everywhere and can’t find this for purchase. I found white gauge overlays but they don’t light up blue or green😔
@@matthewmartinez2012 Well dang they could have discontinued them
I found some but my GT RPM meter goes up to 8000 and the one I found goes up to 7000. Idk if that makes a difference???
Covert garage if you replied I never got anything and it said you replied please help as I have gauges out and trying to get them done tonight
I wanna do this n my 04 but im scared ima mess my gauges up
Might as well give it a shot! It’s not too complicated!
what's that clip called you used for the hot wire??
A quick wire splice!
@@CovertGarage thanks bro I appreciate you.. I’m trying to make the swap and I’ve already messed another cheap cluster up where the led wiring goes onto the actual led.. ugh so I can hot wire it to the blue white wire right?
@@indistructible420 That is correct! At least that’s what it was on my car.
Hey brother the clips that plug in there's 3 plugs on the gauges I have same kit and there's 4 plugs or clips that come off once you put the new gauges overlay on I actually want to actually use the controller provided any help would greatly be appreciated bro new subscriber now bro much respect hope to hear back from you
If you want to use the provided controller you can just run it down somewhere instead of tucking it behind the dash. I’d probably run it down under the dash
I appreciate your reply but you know when you stick the overlays over the needles they have 3 clips for plugging in to another end but the box to change colors and dimmer switch has 4 so I'm trying to ask wheres the 4th plug into coming off the box and which one of the 3 when you put the overlays on any special order to plug into the ones on the box?
3 plugs on gauges 4 on box plus the red and black wire? Plus how do I test them if I unplug the battery sorry if dumb question
@@jasonhostetler2577 Oh I gotcha. The fourth plug goes to the overlays for the AC controls. If you don’t have (like I didn’t) you don’t have to do anything with it!
@@jasonhostetler2577 No such thing as a dumb question! Simply touch the red wire to the positive battery terminal and the black wire to the negative
Did you keep it on blue or green?
I kept it on blue
I just installed this same overlays and I’m having problems to the mph needle, it gets stuck
@@santosaleman7060 hmm that’s very strange I can’t think of why that would be happening unless there was a defect with the overlays
@@CovertGarage do you think it’s possible that I might pushed the needle inwards when I slide it thru the overlay?
I have even tired Elmer’s glow to try to hold it down
I bought this one on ebay
I take out my cluster and the face is not the same that you have in the video 😆😆
The connectors is not the same ones!!
What a waste of time my goddd!!!!!
