    I like the part where he made a viking sword out of a coil spring

      What would be even more impressive would be making a coil spring out of a viking sword.

    This man can take the most convoluted piece of metal and flatten it out, just impressive to me.

  • @whiskeycreekboy
    @whiskeycreekboy Před 5 měsíci +2

    Secure the anvil on a fixed sturdy surface and you will not be wasting as much energy with the strike. All of the energy is transferred to moving the anvil and not as much into the piece of metal that you are working. This will move the metal faster and more efficiently.

    Handle is too fat but this is not a main problem. Pommel mount is wrong...during a sword fight there are high amount of stress and it will simply come off after a few hits.

    Appreciate the hardwork brother, but mirror finish is always not the best finish on blades. You should try other finishes like scotch brite or acid etched.

    Гарда и навершье у "каролинга" должны быть пустотелые.То есть стальной каркас,обтянутый бронзой.Это для баланса .Если их сделать литыми,меч будет слишком тяжёлым.Кончик должен быть закруглён.Этот меч больше напоминает "спату" для конного боя.И последнее....клинок должен быть дамаскирован как и любой меч или боевой топор той эпохи.

    • @user-od1jc8hc2g

      Ага, и навершие должно расклепываться. Этим мечем махать вообще нельзя, а то саморазберется в руках.

    It started out great. Cutting the coil spring out and straightening the steel was great. You lost me at grinding in a fuller and the bevels. It would have been better if you have forged in the bevels and used a filleting die or a hammer to forge them in instead of grinding them in.

      The guy is working with a make shift furnace and horse shoe anvil that had seen its golden days long time ago. I guess it is just easier to do this especially when he is not selling the items but only requires an aesthetically pleasing thing for CZcams.

      I'm more puzzled by the fact this is barely a sword at all.
      Blade is too thick.
      Crossguard is cartoonishly too thick.
      Pommel just screwed on.
      Yeah, it's as much a sword as the 19th century wall-hangers medieval swords, is just has the outline of a sword and is made of metal, but it's a decoration piece.
