Planting Miscanthus giganteus or the product by Real World Wildlife Products - Giant Miscanthus Grass. (I included link to their website at bottom of this description).
This is for a deer screening project on the 🌿Ranch🍀
This could be exactly what you’re looking for in your screening project needs . This Non-invasive super tall and hardy grass will reach over 10 feet tall and slowly expand over time. Giant Miscanthus will take 3 years to establish according to Real Worlds website. It’s planted in similar fashion to how you would plant corn. Giant miscanthus is a perennial so you only have to plant it once .
This product is sent In a Bag of Rhizomes . Rhizomes are a small piece of root system and how this plant is propagated.
It is Very easily planted in small 3-4” inch deep holes or freshly tilled soil at 18 inches apart from each other . It’s is suggested to plant in with a herbicide like atrazine that is a pre-Emergent broad leaf herbicide to take care of weed competition in the 1st year of growth.
Maintenance and fertilizing seems to be minimal with this product
This all makes Giant Miscanthus great choice for long term screening projects. Although slow to establish your deer won’t see you moving behind it, if you give it a chance .
And that’s Miscanthus giganteus.

So far , happy . And I since area I planted isn’t terribly big , I just been weeding around the growth sights to help keep from weeds choking it
Thanks for commenting and watching 👨🏻👍🏼
I checked the site SOLD OUT called spoke to Wes I will place my order end of year early next year. thanks buddy. takes a few years to become full grown from my research.
Yes 3 years for full potential . But will make a good permanent screening solution

👆🏼👆🏼that’s the link to the Miscanthus grass this summer !! It’s sick
@@figandcloverranch5871 I saw that one after commenting. Looks great! I hope by sick you mean good and not really sick?
@@MyVisualRomance lol yeah Sick=Great . Lmao
I have watched a couple of your videos and I have been harvest miscanthus for skep baskets. I noticed last year and this morning Japan time that if it lays down in the river it grows even longer I pulled two that were21 Ft long! I noticed that every node had roots and some had already sprouted grass.something to consider if you want to encourage growth and I have subscribed and would like to see and hear more.
Thanks for comments and the idea. . I have noticed the some grow better then others , maybe it’s the water in the soils 🤔 thanks
Miscanthus reminds me of a beavers dam . It pile and mounds up more in water, collects soil around it’s roots and doesn’t stop water flow but allows the area to hold water for longer periods of time. Someone said that it is expensive their , yet it grows like weeds literally here in Japan.
Hi. My name is matt and I'm finding it troubling to find a video on planting elephant grass from seed. Can you help me?
Haven’t tried to plant elephant grass . Are you using this for deer or screening ? It’s the plant with fat stalk, almost like corn right ??
@@figandcloverranch5871 I didnt get stalks I got seed.

@@matthewhazelwoodjr2766 I am no plant expert, but I believe those sprout when the ground gets warmer . Like when summer temps really heat up .
@@figandcloverranch5871 works for me thank you. I put them in the ground on a hot day and watered them.
I am glad you're trying but I'm not too thrilled with the product if that's all you got after 2 months sorry keep up the good work
Thanks for watching ! Please like 👍🏼 video . And I am gunna keep up my work ! Thank you for kinda words about my 🌿Ranch🍀. It’s my happy place for sure 👨🏻👍🏼
