He is riding well in rough country and very gentle. Loves people, always easy to catch. Good ground manners, stands to mount, moves off leg, backs well. Ride him bareback with a halter. Hobbles, good with his feet and gets along well with other horses. Just be for taking this video I put his first set of shoes on he stood well for it all. I grew up in Hidalgo County New Mexico! At 71 I live in Harrison, Arkansas now! This is a childhood memory of my Horse thunder I road a lot of fences in the 50’s & 60’s till I went to Vietnam in 1968.
In total they used 5 horses to represent Hidalgo. They had to PAINT the brown colors of the face to match TJ's markings. That is the horse Viggo bought. He speaks very lovingly of that horse in one of his interviews. That horse was very intelligent, strong and faithful.

Whoever trained this horse, did a really good job and it seems that treated with respect a wonderful animal.
It is cool when actors fall in love with the horses they ride in the parts that they have.

P.S. I liked the movie but honestly, I liked this more. It is real and he is one fabulous stallion..I know why you brought him home his personality shines honest and good. Had to watch it one more time...cheers!

However, I forgot to say - really nice well behaved horse - trained and ridden very well. Looks like the guy had great hands and which made for a soft mouth. The horse also looks like he has a personality and would be fun to own.

In the few posts that I read there was only one mention of the Mustang, the Mustang is nature's breed of horse, it's a mut that became imho the most beautiful of horses. When the Spaniards first showed up in the Americas the Indians had never seen a horse that the called them big dogs. The mustang became the Indians breed of horse as they tamed wild stubborn horses and died to protect the breed. So glad they were not all destroyed as planned by Americas new owners. Nature has a way to perfect everything if only given the chance without prejudice. I thank you for posting this beautiful horse and I'm sadden that you've sold him, such a horse is more than a horse, the new owner has got to be the happiest in the world.

I miss my Arabian mare Kyla. After 21 years being my best friend, she badly broke her left front leg right in half changing direction. I thought I would die grieving my sweet gorgeous girl.I laid on top of her, my face laying on hers, her eye slightly open, for a long time....same as my husband Walter a year ago. My heart is broken losing two Soulmates. 💔

Robert Garcia, not all horses are cut out for a certain discipline. Some horses are more spirited and need less coaxing while others are more hesitate to follow instruction.
