Good edit. But God do hate this movie I have ridden horses for 11 years and any responsible horse owner would not put a horse in this situation. It was a death sentence form the start.
Well, if the daily stops were oh....15 to 20 miles apart and there was plenty of water, food, and veterinary care at each stop(oh, and a farrier or good blacksmith who can work on hooves for the horses with shoes!), I could see how it could be done, but the logistics would be massive! And judging by the context of your post, I am guessing that you meant that any responsible owner would "not" put a horse in that situation?
@@jozatexan1964 I get that it is a movie. 😳 I was like 15 when I posted that. 🤣. I still think it’s a stupid idea, but hey. I mean I have no problem with endurance racing in general. I just think The style of racing is dumb. Though I think the only time I had seen this movie I think it was the first PG-13 movie I had watched it and I was 12. It basically scarred me at that point. I really need to watch it now that I’m 20 🥴
@@jozatexan1964 actually upon re-familiar rising myself with this a little bit. This is actually based off of a true story very loosely but still and I think that was my biggest problem with it. Was that somebody had actually had to of put their horse in that situation. First of all back on 1890 evidently you’d be putting your horse on the ship so in that time your horse is losing muscle and any Endurance it has. Not to mention bringing a horse to a environment it is not used to. All you have to do is look at what happened at Tryon World equestrian games in 2018 and see how many horses had medical issues from The endurance race. One horse actually died. If I remember correctly they actually canceled the final day of endurance. Partly due to a hurricane

There was a lot of movie magic and makeup used. I'd shoot the first person who tried that stunt for real on any of mine.
