    Thanks for making this video. For those who are thinking about doing this install, I'd like to give you some tips and observations from my install.
    First: You may want to make sure your tank is as empty as possible before starting. If not, no problem but it might make detaching the fuel tank easier, and perhaps detaching the fuel lines less messy. I used rags to cover the fuel lines after I detached them, as there was a little bit of fuel drip. Not much though.
    1:35 - That push pin was a PAIN to remove for some reason. I wound up mangling mine. It would not come out as gracefully as shown in the vid. I tried a few methods. Not a huge deal. I'll get a new one. You may want to get one of those push pin removal tools.
    3:22 - The hose on the right (the larger one) popped off by simply lifting the tank. I knew this was going to be a problem during reassembly, and it was. I had to push that hose up once I had the "hinge bolt" back on the tank, so that it was close enough to the nipple to reattach it. I then had to pull it back down so that it wouldn't crimp once the tank was fully closed. A little bit of a pain, as the hose is tightly fitted (snug) in its sleeve and another plastic routing piece.
    5:30 - Notice how the rubber grommet is pushed inward, leaving a few millimeters gap on the inside. Make sure you push this OUT before trying to put the tank back on. I couldn't figure out why the tank wasn't seating. I thought it was the tank hoses or the wiring harness in the way. Turned out to be that grommet.
    8:35 - I don't know how he pulled these off with his hand (made it look easy). I had to use needle nosed pliers. If you have big hands I think it'll be tough getting the clips loose in that tight spot.
    9:35 - There are two black boots. Look for the one that is closest to the front of the bike.
    11:00 - There is no need to remove this push pin. Just unhook the cover from the right side and swing it out of the way.
    11:17 - Notice how the connector is off in the vid, without showing the removal of it. I had to remove the connector to the right of the middle connector first in order to access the clip (facing inside) on the connector to unplug it.
    One more thing. After you reassemble your airbox and attaching your tank, it may be a good idea to start your bike to ensure you didn't screw something up before attaching the rest of your fairings.
    Overall, excellent how-to video. There is no way I could have done this job without it! It took me a solid 4 hour to do. With experience, I can probably do it in 2 now.

      Gold. Thankyou for sharing these insights, I'm patiently awaiting the arrival of my PC5 and have watched this video many times so that I'm half familiar with how to do it. Knowing these little nuances can make the job go a whole lot smoother with forewarning. Thanks for the heads up David, much appreciated!

    One thing I'd suggest with any power commander install that has the single tps wire. Is just get a pack of non insulated crimp terminals. De-pin the terminal, Cut the wire you need to tap into, put 2 wires (oe wire + the grey PC wire) in one side, and the other wire in the other end, crimp them, then use a pice of heat shrink over the connection and re-pin the connector. That will give you a much better connection long-term then this t tap bullshit. I just put a PC on my Shadow phantom this is how I did it.

    • @DynojetResearch
      @DynojetResearch  Před 4 lety +2

      Constantinos, we sell quite a few of these and have had excellent results. The product is particular to how it works, so bad information in means bad information out. So if you have an exhaust leak, or anything else that could cause the O2 sensor for the Autotune to read off then it does have the ability to make your bike run worse than when you started. There are safeguards in the background that if used properly can keep this from happening also.
      Are you having issues with the tune it is making for you? If so please write in to pstech@dynojet.com for assistance.
