    Thank you and great review! Just sighted in my new CA ridgeline 308 1:10 24” with no feeding or ejection issues. Out of 6 factory loads 4 were sub MOA with one at .5 MOA. Not sure if I got lucky or their quality has improved. Regardless, it’s going to be my new go to gun for California deer and black bear or at least until I find something better.

    Its crazy to compare these two rifles because the Christensen is twice the price of the Bergara. So of course the Christensen rifle is going to have a few better components than the Bergara even though the Bergara still out performs the Christensen rifle. Try comparing the same Christensen rifle to a Bergara Premier rifle in the same category and that will be a fair fight for quality.

    I have a CA ridgeline in a 22-250 and have shot only factory ammo through it , after breaking it in around 50-70 rounds or so I was able to get 0.75 inch 3 shot group @ 200 yds using factory ammo and it did repeat that many times I know you probably won’t believe this but I also shot it over 650yds many times and the groups measured 1 1/8 inch to 3 inch group in 5mph wind multiple times . I have no issues at all with my ridgeline feeds and extracts great very smooth as well . Also remember CA uses Remington 700 clone action which is held to higher tolerance than the regular Remington 700 action so far I am very impressed with my 22-250 CA .

    I have a Christensen Mesa in 6.5 prc shoots sub moa right out of the box, with that said I read alot of negative comments about their rifles. I guess its just luck of the draw...

    • @LifeisGood-ye8rl

      When you pay that much for a Rifle, you should not rely on luck of the draw every single rifle should be superb . Surely someone can get a lemon, but when a lot of people get lemon that say something about the manufacture.

    I have had great luck with the 9 Christensen rifles i have owned. 6 Ridgelines and 3 Mesa's with never an issue, all of mine shot sub-moa but they are picky bastids. I have owned 2 Bergara B14's and a Premier Mountain 2.0, the B14's would not shoot sub-moa despite my best reloading efforts but the Mountain 2.0 would do sub-moa but it had ejection issues. For My taste in Mountain rifles I like a Tikka T3x or even a Kimber Montana (if you can find one)

    Ill never buy a christensen arms rifle for 2 primary reasons: 1-their sub moa guaranty is sub par - its only sub moa (sub 1") at 50 yards. So basically up to 2" at 100. Thats crap! 2-their warranty is void if you ever use non-factory ammo in the gun. I reload, so it makes it basically worthless to me. I think a lot of people would shy away from them if they knew these 2 factors, especially if you want to reload. Bergara is true sub moa at 100 yds and you won't void the warranty with reloads.

    • @caseyjensen1733
      @caseyjensen1733 Před 10 měsíci +3

      You are wrong on both accounts. Sub moa guarantee is at 100 yards. Quote from their website "Any firearm that falls under our Sub-MOA Guarantee is guaranteed to be capable of shooting 3 shots within 1 MOA (roughly 1 inch at 100 yards)." Non factory loads does not void the warranty, but damage from improperly loaded ammo does. Another quote from their website "This limited warranty does not cover any damage caused by hand loaded, reloaded, or other improperly loaded ammunition."

    • @ActinOut
      @ActinOut Před 10 měsíci

      @caseyjensen1733 this was directly from the users manual so sorry, I'm not wrong. The only way around that could be a misprint. I was going by their website initially as well and so was quite suprised to see what the users manual said.

    • @caseyjensen1733
      @caseyjensen1733 Před 9 měsíci

      @ActinOut Where in their users manual? Let's hear the direct quote. You are still wrong on both accounts. The only thing that might be close to what you said is that Christensen guarantees their rimfires for 1 MOA at 50 yards (approximately 1/2" group at 50 yards), but centerfire rifles are guaranteed for 1 MOA at 100 yards (approximately 1" group at 100 yards)

      I own 4 CA, in diveres calibers ,...every one of them shoot at 100meters way sub moa...we are talking about 8-10mm groups for 5 shots...for me it looks like ya reloding sucks dude..cheers from germany

    • @ActinOut
      @ActinOut Před 9 měsíci

      @GGlitter72 I didn't say anything about MY reloading. Only that CA says your warranty is void if you use anything except factory loads. I also haven't shot any reloads with a CA, because I don't have one. BTW, with the reloads I do with the guns I do have, I get abt 3/4", so pretty sure my reloads don't suck. I think you misunderstood my comment.

      I was unlucky. There were multiple stock issues with mine . Including the swivel studs being ran in darn near sideways. It was terrible the cerakote had dark spots in it ,and the barreled action wasn’t centered in the stock. Ive had cheap beater rifles that had much better fit and finish . Mine did shoot sub moa however. Needless to say it’s no longer mine

    Friends dont let friends buy CA rifles. So many better choices especially for the price point. Get a seekins and never worry about it. CA has such a poor reputation for QA issues and poor accuracy. Plenty of forum posts that shed light on CA's issues over the years.

    • @ActinOut

      Couldn’t agree more. I had a ridgeline in 300 win mag and I could not get it to group. Did the full break in and tried lots of different loads, ended up selling it. I now have a savage 110 ultralight in 28 nosler. Threw a carbon fiber stock on it, and that proof barrel is perfect. Right out of the box and to this day I don’t think I’ve shot a group outside of an MOA. I’ve also been shooting a weatherby vanguard in 270 win for years now and it’s a tac driver as well.

    Not really apples to apples. The woox makes a huge difference. I have ridgeline in 6.5 prc and haven't had the ejection issues. I also have a b14 hmr in 300 prc. Certainly no complaints about that one. The christensen really likes eld x. The bergara isn't too picky.

  • @maxcopple8187
    @maxcopple8187 Před rokem

    I have higher end versions of both rifles. My experience has been the opposite. Both my bergaras cant get the brass slung out of the action and it ends up just flopping around backward in the reciever. Accuracy has been great on both bergara and christiansen but i agree that the action feels better on the bergara. I think the accuracy problem is the carbon fiber barrel on yours. It is hard to get a carbon fiber barrel made consistently. Most arent as accurate as advertised. I think the bergara i have is a little more accurate than the christiensen arms but the bergara is 300prc and the christiensen is .338 lapua. Hard to compare apples to oranges there. Not trying to undermind what youre saying though. Its a lot easier to give bergara a pass on its issues because its half the price of the christiensen and a tac driver. If my CA would have had those issues Id have been one unhappy dude.

    It took approximately 150 rounds for my Ridgeline started shooting sub moa. Now it shoots .5”-.75” consistently. The action opening is sharp, hits pressure prematurely, and action is not smooth. I will not buy another CA rifle. They are not inexpensive and for what you pay, not worth it to me.
