I'm receiving information now from a few different sources regarding manufacturing and QC issues. 2024 releases are starting off rough. Also, if you’re reading this, head over to my Instagram page @buildingpickleball, I’m announcing another merch drop this week!
After waiting months, I canceled my order. I then got in early this go around and expected them to be on hand to ship. Emailed and was told 7-10 days to assemble 🙄
Great video as usual, excellent questions btw…. Did you have the opportunity to talk with Andrei about the fine and the whole situation with his altered paddle ?
@building pickleball did you try the project roadrunner because they didn’t have that one for sale on the launch which is why I didn’t buy one what Paddle recommendation would you choose based on using some of them?
Yeah very briefly though. Of their lineup, RR is prob the closest to the market paddles that most people are playing with. Oh man I dunno if I could recommend any one, I didn’t play w them long enough and I’m not a fan of a 11MM. Curious about 15MM and the RR though
@@buildingpickleball just spoke with somebody at proton and he said the roadrunner won’t be out till late summer early spring or fall whatever comes after summer, which is a little depressing. I don’t think I like any of the other ones they’re too thin, and the colors are ugly. If I’m gonna lose, I wanna lose at least looking good.
For series one… Aside from the nanotac what is special about these? Nothing it seems. Just heavy gen 1.5-2 paddles. Plus with the APP deal will these even be legal soon? Feels like a Joola 2.0 scenario. Overpromise and under deliver. That’s what they’ve done to the retail PB community.
I remember Braydon (PBEffect) and JohnKew mentioned the cores being diff between A and B? B is nomex. The durability of the paddle face is what’s special, that face has alleviated the problem the majority of the industry is facing. If you like the paddle then it’s great. I’m not a 11mm guy. Yeah, 2024 is off to a rough start for paddles.
@@buildingpickleball friction seems past legal limits. It’s like a ping pong paddle. That’s why the spin produced will last so long on the face, it’s not grit, it’s basically micro rubber coatings. Idk man, I bet they will get delisted soon if the governing bodies actually start doing friction tests. I’m sure they are fun paddles to use but so were the gen 3 Joolas before they were banned. I personally haven’t seen one paddle in my greater metro area. They have hardly any rec market share it seems, just pro. If the tech and paddles are so next level why doesn’t everyone have one? Why aren’t they more accessible for consumers? Crazy their 11mm paddles are 125+ SW! Too heavy for a paddle that thin even if it lasts a long time… tennis elbow waiting to happen for most.
@@123BV8 agreed. Once they start testing for friction Proton is screwed. How will they explain RPMs over 2200 with no grit? It’s a rubberized coating… big ping pong like paddle with carbon fiber! Of course it’s going to spin like crazy.

Can you call them and find out more about their series one now not approved for tournament play?
Save me a 2X
I believe most customers waiting for series one did not get another series to play with first.
Interesting
Looks like most of them are off the approved paddle list. The ones with the nanotex surface, glad I held off.
I just checked the site, everything is still listed as "Pass".
@@y4ngel I only see the white one with the grit surface and the series 3, not the nanotac ones
Whoever made that Reddit post about delisting was way ahead of this, wow
@@buildingpickleball No way USAP pulled the same move on Joola and now Proton 🤦♂️
@@johnw323 Is it listed something else? I see Series One, Series Two, and Series three as approved. Was the nanotac one listed differently before?
Customers are waiting for a masculine design so they can play not embarrassed.
😂
Got the alert, came back for the show ...

Been hearing the same thing 🤔

Unfortunately, that couldn’t be discussed.

@@thirtydayjeffohh interesting, yeah I wasn’t sure when they were releasing either. Haha win and lose in style

Lack of hybrid shape and the general hype in the market makes me wary of these
