@@gingerwolff3427 you most certainly can stain mdf, but I was more so upset that instead of refinishing the beautiful wood grain, she’s painting over it. You can disagree with me but don’t come at me with incorrect information.

Meanwhile rich betty over here wants a "Modern dresser" by ruining a perfectly good one. Wanna d.i.y? Buy some wood and some nails and make one exactly how you want. Obviously has the tools for it.

It is pretty amazing! It’s an expensive investment but I use it on every project so it definitely paid off 🙌

What a beautiful wood grain on that dresser, I bet she’ll put a nice stain or varnish on it and not completely cover up that beautiful finish :-)
It's not even completely covered..
It’s not real wood. You can’t stain MDF unless the finish is actual veneer

How many cans of shellac base primer did you use?
I actually used an oil based primer…and I used 1 for this dresser

I love using Zinsser’s oil based primer in a spray can. It covers stains really well, and creates a great base for the paint to stick to

What does scuff sanded mean exactly?
Scuff sanding is just roughing up the surface so that the paint has something to grab onto. It creates a better adhesion.
