Tombstone Origins - This Nightmarishly Murderous Spiderman Villain Is The Product Of Bullying!

  • If there is one condition that is universally associated with the term “outcast”, it has to be albinism. Even though it is a rare congenital disease that can be extremely fatal to the health of the person afflicted by it, creative figures have been more inclined towards exploring its symbolic “otherness”. George R. R. Martin used albinism as an allegory for hidden strength, with the direwolf Ghost growing up to be the most deadly out of his entire pack. Dan Brown used it to make his readers aware of the stigma it can be associated with, through the wayward monk Silas from his novel The Da Vinci Code. Gerry Conway decided to merge those two depictions and create one of the most terrifying B-List comic book villains of all-time. There were at least 3 Spider-Man titles floating about in 1988 and because most of the Sinister Six-level supervillains were busy wrecking shop on the main Amazing Spider-Man title, Conway needed a few fresh faces to populate his own run on the Spectacular Spider-Man. He wanted to move away from the Mary Janes and the Aunt Mays and put the focus on Peter Parker’s supporting cast. He also wanted to bring in a new, mob-associated figure to tie-up the webslinger. That character would go on to become the man we know today as Tombstone. He debuted in Web of Spider-Man issue #36 and has gone on to become one of the most dangerous (and popular) street-level threats to Spidey’s life. Let’s take a look at the Horror of Harlem; this is Tombstone’s Origins - Explored.

This character is one of my favorite underrated Spider-Man villains, from His badass design, terrifying personality, and connection with one of Peter’s friends, he’s essentially the perfect villain. I feel like he should have more stories as the main villain, and be the main villain in a Spider-Man movie or video game. i’ve always preferred a mix between his classic version and the spectacular version, A powerful and intelligent bruiser, Who runs his own gang, but doesn’t mind working for others. Plus Dorian Harewood and Kevin Michael Richardson, are the definitive voice actors in my opinion, nothing wrong with the into the spider verse version.

Doesn't feel pain, doesnt tire, can't be hurt by conventional means, etc. Not super strength or powers or gadgets, just a guy who keeps coming at you and you know won't stop. • @timothyhyena3106

I truly dont remember seeing tombstone in,
    In to the spider-verse!
And that shit about spider man hurting his hand is kinda stupid. I had a giant size spiderman Vs superman comic where spider man hit super man countless times and never hurt his hands. So tombstone is harder than the man of steel!? Stick to the script why don't cha!
That kinda hype kills me when a writer throws the already established comic lore out the window to give a new/subpar villain more notoriety. Can we say hype boys and girls? It's like when they stripped (Godzilla verse)Kong of his weather manipulation ability to give Godzilla more edge going in. Even in king kongs solo films it was mentioned that he kept skull island shrouded in a deep fog. Yet, Godzilla can now hold enough nuclear energy that should've destroyed half the PLANET!? Hackey AF. But that Mothra finish move was hard. Also, dead pool comes to mind; I couldn't read a comic book if deadpool was featured let alone his solo issues. Total new comer hype but the films change my opinion, they were amazing. I'm a huge deadpool fan now.
Thanks Ryan, i appreciate your work.
Oops, I just did what I accuse fans of the dark night version of bat man of doing. they aren't actually Real Bat Man fans they're Nolan fan boys. That's why they tried so hard to destroy Afflecks version...BvS f'n RULED!!! I was on the edge of my seat. Imho, Bat man begins was superb but that's were i drew the line with that series. That was just his take on batman and the other installments were waaay to soap-operaish for my taste, simply, I'm a bat man fan first so give me... The BATMAN!!
Like I want...The WOLVERINE. You can keep Logan. was totally turn off when that version hit the comics. And I could've swore his name was different when he first joined the X-men.
