An excellent multipurpose or all-purpose chutney recipe prepared with juicy and tangy ripe tomatoes. This particular condiment is loaded with flavours, especially the spicy and tangy flavour from chillies and tomatoes.Even though it is an all-purpose chutney recipe, but an ideal condiment for morning breakfast with dosa and idli if not as a side dish to dal rice recipes.

Chutney or Indian condiment recipes are purpose-based recipes which are typically served as taste enhancers. The purpose and the ingredients of this chutney mainly depend upon the demographic region it hails from like North or South India. However, there are certain chutney recipes which are prepared across India for various reasons and tomato chutney is one of the popular recipes .
Ingredients:
2 big tomatoes
Oil
3-4 dried red chilli
1/2 spoon salt
1/4 spoon turmeric
1/2 spoon red chilli powder
1 spoon cumin seeds
1 spoon coriander seeds
Fenugreek seeds
3-4 garlic cloves
1 spoon Chana daal
Curry leaves
Asafoetida ( hing )
Mustard seeds
Recipe:
Add 2 spoons oil to the pan
Add chopped tomatoes to oil and cook for 5 minutes
Add cumin seeds, coriander seeds, fenugreek seeds, dried red chilli, garlic cloves
Cook till tomatoes are soft and juicy
Add salt, turmeric and red chilli powder
Cook for 5 minutes
Take the tomato mixture to jar and blend to paste
In a pan add oil, garlic Crushed , cumin seeds, mustard seeds
Add asafoetida and curry leaves
Add this tempering to tomato mixture
