    Jai is a great fighter tough as nails, but I think his team have him concentrating hard on maintaining a pendulum step.He seems to get timed coming in ,or slightly of balance, when if his feet were more planted a slip would avoid the punch.He has heavy hands so a more conventional style with lateral footwork , good guard, slips would be a better defense, leaving energy for hard timed devastating combinations.The pendulum seems to suit a lighter punch volume style of boxing .Not saying he shouldn't utilise it , but here it seemed to land him in trouble at times rather than give him an advantage.

    Hmm? Seems to me over the last few years a few "home time decisions" have gone the way of Australian fighters in world title fights. For my money Briedis did more and was the champion. You have to really edge a champion to take the title. It was same situation in the Horn vs Pacquiao fight. However, just my opinion.

    • @cjuice2943
      @cjuice2943 Před 5 měsíci +5

      You did not just use horn vs manny as an example 😂🤦🏽‍♂️ you probably watched the highlights and not the full fight. I’m glad you weren’t one of the judges.

      Manny got ROBBED robbed, he got hacked and shanked, the shanker ran away, fled to Sweden.
      Not comparable at all,
      Briedis is a beast, but so is Opetaia.
      Opetaia really won on points/rounds won, simple imo

      It did seem to be a wide margin like 8/10 rounds in 11/12 and finishing holding for dear life and snapped jaw wouldn't you want to prove it in a rematch bye winning like the winner of a fight with less damage than your opponent.. anyway I think JO is awesome but as the champion should be convincingly beat a draw would have been fare to me and a rematch

    • @francishughes2016
      @francishughes2016 Před měsícem

      Jeez, I disagree, Opetaia is the kind of boxer/fighter who is looking to put it on you as soon as he can, he is a pressure fighter, he has a jab, but he only uses it as a 'range finder', so far if he feels that he does'nt really need to use it, i dont think it really matters about his jab, i mean 'If its not broken, dont fix it, so far he is unbeaten, & he is a champion with one belt.
      Opetaia has said that he wants to Unify the division, & i am convinced that he will, he brings a different kind of intensity to the division, as in, i dont see anyone beating him, he is going to beat Billam Smith, Riakporhe, ( who has already bottled the chance of a fight), & ALL of the other beltholders, there is NO reason why these unification fights can't happen, but i am certain, that Jai comes out on top.
