It's a parody of multiple monster movies. There's Frankenstein, Bride of Frankenstein, The Mummy, Creature from the Black Lagoon, Godzilla and probably more.
Not to mention, Burton directed the original Frankenweenie.

Love how this is an Homage to the 50s B-Movies, and Monster Films. Well Done Burton. You defiantly re-animated your idea to something greater. I even like the nod to the classic Japanese Kaiju films.
After this trailer I want to watch Ed Wood again.

1:03 I FINALLY get it! This must be the kid that started the "rumors" at Victor's school! O_O I just saw him, on this promo, peering through the gate at Sparky and then it cuts to "Your dog is aliiiiive!!!" and then I suddenly remembered Victor, in the original, walking to school with his friends and one of them tells him "Man, you won't BELIEVE the stuff I've been hearing about you!".
This trailer is perfect for the movie. Love it.
In the beginning of the trailer I was all excited because I thought, "Awe yeah second part of the Corpse Bride!" But then I realized it wasn't further on in the trailer ;_; sigh... My enthusiasm was wasted D: !

Now I have two things making me chew my nails about this re-make... I love Tim's works, so you'd think I'd trust him right off the bat... I probably would, but I have never really taken well to changes in stuff I like a lot... Oh, well. All I can do is wait and see if I like what Tim does to his classic original.

But nevertheless, Abercrombie is the ORIGINAL Tim Burton canine character! :D At least, I think he is... Hes Vincent's dog in Tim Burton's short film "Vincent". "Vincent liked to experiment on his dog, Abercrombie, in the hopes of creating a horrible zombie. So that he and his zombie dog could go searching for victims in the London fog.".

This was so cool! I feel like Hollywood is so busy moving forward they forget to look back and remember what made these movies so great! I like the new take on the old style! I can't ait for this movie!
I'm going to back Jean up on this. Technically, Jean is right. The dog is a slightly different shape, size and appearance along with the fact it has a different name, but Tim generally seems to use a "base" of his for all of his animated dogs. This is coming from a serious, dedicated Tim Burton fan who looks at his artwork and films on a daily basis.

Well, the reindeer in TNBC were skeletons, not Christmas lawn decorations. And those reindeer have always been in Frankenweenie, before TNBC was even a finished project. The original Tim Burton's Frankenweenie film came out in the late 1980's as a black and white live action 30 minute film.
Watch this in 240p for better results. ;)

did anyone notice that in the Corpse Bride Victor's dogs name was Scraps not Sparky. This is a completely different movie. Just a knock off of Frankenstien... a little boy brought his dog back to life and he has rivals. No big deal. IDK why you guys say he uses movies over and over again.
