    I have the 90 3ltr turbo diesel automatic. almost 25 years old 193k miles. All standard. Still runs as new. Good luck from the UK. (no rust)

      Our 3 door version VX with 300k km had to be retired last year / exported to Africa… in Switzerland we have salt on the roads in winter. This lead to a structural crossbeam rusting through, so we couldn’t tow anymore/drm didn’t approve it. It was so extremely reliable😮

      My prado lj95 1998 with the 3L (2.8d)naturally aspirated idi diesel is still running strong up and down the rugged Himalayas and arakan range roads. No rust. Its quite slow but okay because here in india more than 90% of cars are below 1500 cc😅. When on the plains i can blend in with the mileage conscious crowd that don't go beyond 80-100kmph on the highways😁.

    Nice car mine is the same and same colour, I have 2" lift with 265/75/16 and get occaision rubbing at the rear on full lock - interesting that you can run 285's? Not sure what offset I have though? Anyway, please tell me more about your exhaust as it sounds great! So you cut it the somehow connected to a 3" pipe with a new 3" resonator? A normal one or a new 3" one?

    • @rsadventuresnz8400
      @rsadventuresnz8400  Před rokem

      Thanks! Yup exhaust is connected to a 3inch pipe with aftermarket resonator. One of my mate used a rav4 resonator sounds almost Identical.
      I run 285s fitted with 16x8 -22 offset. I have cut the inner edge in the guards as it was rubbing full flex aswell. No issues now though

    What’s the most common problem apart from cracked heads. Have you had any problems. Also what does it usually cost to service in nz and how many kms you get from a tank cheers (nice rig as well bro)

    • @rsadventuresnz8400
      @rsadventuresnz8400  Před rokem

      Heya, suspension items - best to check lower ball joint as they're known to give out and when that happens the whole front wheel will be ripped out.
      Easy checks with jack and a bar underneath the wheel prior to trip.
      Check Service injectors and pump
      Servicing wise cant fault it. Simple like any other diesel and parts are readily available around NZ cheers

      The heads don't crack unless you overheat the engine.

    Hi mate,
    Im an absolute noob.
    I couldn't find a video about how and where to use all those 4WD gears..
    If you could make one, it would be pretty amazing..
    Cheers

      @rsadventuresnz8400  Před 9 měsíci

      Heya, sorry I no longer have this vehicle, prados are full time 4wd. (All four wheels spin all the time on 4H)
      4H-normal use
      Put to neutral to put in 4wd(offroad/terrain
      4HL
      N
      and 4LL
      You can confirm this when you see orange 4wd Icon on dash.
      Cheers

      @calebgalvin480 Před 8 měsíci

      They go alguds on 4h you don't need to put them in 4hl or 4ll for offroad terrain unless you need it all it does is engage the center lock

    Have you done body lift or suspension lift only, and what offset dimensions have you use. I have the same Prado

    • @rsadventuresnz8400
      @rsadventuresnz8400  Před rokem

      Suspension lift Only, 16x8 -22 offset for the wheels, a good wheel alignment shop (knows 4wd etc) will help you out with rubbing issues. As they will move the wheel bit forward

    • @user-is2ys2ju3c
      @user-is2ys2ju3c Před rokem +1

      Thank you alot. Actually I was thinking of -44 offset but I guess it will be too much. And besides I didn't do body lift

    • @rsadventuresnz8400
      @rsadventuresnz8400  Před rokem

      @Deep 1999 no worries, have 16x10 -44 fitted before changing to -22 offset.
      Wheels are sticking far out that it rips the guard flares on the rear on flex lol.

    • @user-is2ys2ju3c
      @user-is2ys2ju3c Před rokem

      I am asking because I don't want it giving me hard time, so you prefer 16x8 -22 offset the best decision right?

  • @andreadigrazia
    @andreadigrazia Před rokem

    Do you also have a body lift? I have the same configuration on my Kzj90, but the 285 75 16 tires touched the bodywork and I put the standard ones back on

    • @rsadventuresnz8400
      @rsadventuresnz8400  Před rokem

      Heya, only got a 2 inch suspension lift, bit of massage on inner guards, and a wheel alignment have sorted my rubbing issues was previously 16x10 -44 with 305 70 16s before moving to 16x8 285s

    • @lorenzfriedmann2829
      @lorenzfriedmann2829 Před 8 měsíci

      4H

    • @jimi272
      @jimi272 Před 7 měsíci

      @@lorenzfriedmann2829no, you don’t want to be in 4wd on the road. You want to be in 2H so it’s a rearwheeler on the road. These cars don’t feature a middle diff so if you put it in 4H the center „diff“ is still locked, meaning you will damage the powertrsin over time;) as soon as traction is bad put it in 4H;) otherwise 2H;)

    • @jimi272
      @jimi272 Před 7 měsíci +1

      Oh shit nevermind, what I said applies to European 90 series Landcruisers! In NZ there’s also a permanent 4wd version with open center diff😮

    • @rsadventuresnz8400
      @rsadventuresnz8400  Před 11 měsíci +1

      Heya, not sure how you mean taking it out in 4wd? I normally put it on neutral to shift it to 4h/L that'll activate 4wd in the dash. Then putting it back to 4H for normal driving. (4wd Light off the dash) as prados are full time 4wd. Unlike part time 4wd like hilux surf which you can put it on 2wd or 4wd hope this helps?

    • @rsadventuresnz8400
      @rsadventuresnz8400  Před 3 měsíci

      Heya this model doesn't. Only seen a few numbers with factory rear diff locks. There is a forum where you can swap factory difflocks but id go with aftermarket lockers at that point😬

    • @J27M
      @J27M Před 3 měsíci

      Ahh right. I guess factory centre diff lock is better than nothing i.e a 4wd that has open diffs but low range.
      But still probably more than enough for overlanding and mild off roady stuff.
