Those webkits can be really useful to import just to see how pages are constructed using containers. It's a very good and quick way to learn about it
Save as default allows you to set up common settings on a element you might use regularly. For instance, I often have to manually change margins on a container, so being able to set a margin as the default would ensure new containers start with consistent setting throughout the site.
I agree though, that the way Bricks handles classes is super slick, and I hope Elementor integrates a feature like that.
Elementor needs style classes and combo classes like webflow and bricks. Your doing great lateley Elementor, but this is the one thing that the competition still has a leg up on you. I think the save as default option would be a great feature for designers if it was account wide. Then designers could set their preferential defaults across all sites they design on.

Also, you can set the defaults for every Element in the Theme settings. So you have a base starting point.
Excellent as always, keep it up. For video widget, if you set preload to auto and keep palyer controls on then you can play video by clicking anywhere...

FYI: disabling google fonts is something you would (have to) do for making your website GDPR-compliant. yes, you might disable google fonts on the frontend through code wihtin the functions.php, but until now, the fonts were still displayed as options in the elementor backend. so i'm happy that it is finally possible to disable this.
Indeed this is very true of GDPR and Google fonts as ruled by Germany first. But let's be honest very few people are working to this level of compliance. As you probably know seen as you are aware of the GDPR/Fonts issue, many cookie plugins are not or cannot even be configured to stop cookies (non essential) from being dropped on user devices before they even get a chance to reject or accept.

@@AidanJoyce yes, (still too) many do not stick to it. but apart from the fact that as a professional i can't advise my clients to make websites that violate applicable laws... we recently had cases in austria and germany - without going into too much detail now - where tens of thousands of websites by lawyers were warned.
but when it comes to google fonts, it is particularly easy to integrate them locally on the server and - as @LivingWithPixels mentioned - the website loads faster anyway.
and yes, quite a lot cookie banners are incorrectly configured or cannot be configured correctly. this is definitely a problem.
but the GDPR does not exist without a reason. ;-)

I used to make a website with code before I found Elementor. Now I can do a lot of the stuff in a fraction of the time from what it used to take.
Sadly, a few things are still missing.
For example color theme selection. Dark/White mode. (I already requested this feature)
Conditions. Bricks already has this implemented greatly. Look it up if you want to know what i mean.
I hope they keep adding and listening. Elementor can truly be the best page builder that way.

Thanks for the very informative video. I agree with you about the classes in Bricks. It works so much better than in Elementor. Maybe they should have a Save Class to Library feature. That way we can have several designs saved per. column.
I haven't played with Containers as much yet. I feel that it's in beta for so long that it's kinda losing it's luster.
Lastly, I don't know why Elementor doesn't buy Crocoblock. Their plugin to do those dynamic grids are much better than what Elementor already has. I would rather just buy an addon to work with grids that will work than wait for eternity for Elementor to get this grid issues to work correctly.

One big problem slowing page speeds is that Google Analytics always loads first. Can you please tell us how to delay the loading until the first screen is opened? I cannot find a way to do it, but others say it is possible.

This is great! I'm now starting to experiment with the advanced tabs feature, as well as the others. I have a request for a future show. As far as I'm aware, in order to optimize Elementor Pro to load faster, I have to go to a third-party cache plug-in, which is complicated. When will ELementor come out with its own built-in version? I know it now has lazy-load and turning off Google fonts. But I'm thinking of a feature which reduces Elementor code. Thanks!
thanx a lot - you're right - we need classes, please Elementor.
Please do not only use h1/h6 for SEO only. If you style something as a heading, make it an h-tag. Your visitors who use accessibility tools such as screenreaders will thank you for that.
In the video widget, if you click image overlay you can add a "play button" in the middle.

For the swap option.. as far as I know.. when the page first load it will use the system default fonts then load the website fonts and swap it with the system default fonts.. enabling faster first meaningful content load for the website...

You are referring to Bricks a few times. I think it would also be interesting for you to take a look at Breakdance builder as well.

So I did what you suggested about the google fonts, and maybe this is a safari issue but my custom fonts do not work on the safari web browser. My custom fonts work on a chrome, opera, torch and explorer browsers, but not on apples safari browser. I uploaded all the different font types like it asked to and followed a tutorial of how to do it, but when I check my website the fonts are just generic fonts. Looks like a roboto font, but can't confirm since they are set to the custom fonts I uploaded to elementor. Do you know if there is a fix to this? I've tried looking on google, but haven't had much luck.

I have a question to ask. When I use Elementor flexbox, the 'fixed' option in a background image doesn't work. Is that only on my part? Or is it with the flexbox? Because, when I don't use flexbox, it does work perfectly.
just tested it, with a container set a background image and changed it to fixed, it seems to work normal - check if you r using the newest version
@@JustAn0therSoul Yeah it works normally. It doesn't stay 'fixed'. But when I deactivate flexbox and do the same work with section & column, it works perfectly.

I've been using WP Rocket for some time and they have lazy load for videos and images. If I'm using WP Rocket, should I also enable lazy load within Elementor ... or can I just use the ones in Elementor now? Great explanation though ... Thanks Rino!
I recommend to use the container in Bricks only for the actual container and than you can use the block or div element

Hi, I love your tutorials. But I have a question! If I upload some products image on my website, I want they will slide (left to right or right to left) automatically on the header page. While it's cool, I really wish that they would fix this issue and some of the other problems with all of their widgets before just making new features -
There is an issue with Tabs and Accordion on mobile: clicking a stacked tab should jump to the top of that tab's content, but it doesn't if the content has different lengths.
This then forces the user to have to scroll up manually, and that is just bad usability. There are also limits on what you can change in the accordions and toggles, leaving you to have to add CSS and javascript to fix this. You can now use the tabs but I just which they could fix some widget straight up.
Not very useful to have a bunch of new features but old problems on Elementor are just ignored. Great video, though :)
In the video widget, if you choose "image overlay" you'll see an option to add the "play" circle icon for the middle of your video thumbnail. Not sure if it will play from middle-click or not as I don't self-host, so I can't test. Works for Vimeo and CZcams.

@@rinodeboer I converted all my videos to use an overlay. Once you choose overlay, go back to the video tab/section and the lazy load option appears. Then you can select that and it will speed up that page. I was so frustrated wanting to use Vimeo for videos but it was a massive hit on page speed. Using overlay and then lazy load was a game-changer in that regard.

I can't seem to find the Tabs widget. Do i need to activate it somewhere?
For the custom uploaded videos I think elementor uses the browser's video player, so it is not customizable. I am not sure though.
I would like to see a video about how to create a style guide template like you.
Save as global is perfect when you have a call to action banner for example, and you want to add it on multiple pages. When you want to change an information on this bloc, it avoid to spend time doing the modificatio on all pages.

Massively on the fence for using the Container and from what I can see, you need to have that installed to use the Loop builder.... or did I miss something?

Thanks for the video man! Just a shot in the dark… anyone know why I am having to constantly regenerate css and files to get my local website to display content as it should?? I know it could be many things, but a few workarounds that I’ve had to repeat more than I’d like have been disable themes, regenerate files, sync library, but I’m not exactly sure what’s been causing this to occur.
I will say that it usually occurs following updates to template element like the header/menu.

I don’t think they can work together. And if its possible then I am not sure if you would want that because the workflow will probably become a mess. So I would advice to choose which builder you are going to choose before you start building.

I use screenflow in order to record my screen. Sometimes 1080P, sometimes 4k. Depends on what camera setting I use.

When I use the loop builder, the excerpt widget doesn't display anything or even take up space. Still not ready for release, I guess.
Did you put in text in the excerpt widget? Because I always thought that the excerpt was just the short version of the post. But its a separate input field that is not active by default in each post.
@@rinodeboer You can't put text in the Excerpt widget, only the number of characters to display.
Oh sorry, I meant not in the widget. But in the post itself inside of Wordpress. Make sure to Google how you can put text in your excerpt inside of a post. Because this input field is hidden by default.
@@rinodeboer Now I see, thanks for the info. So yes, when I manually add text to the excerpt outside of Elementor, it appears. But the formatting is terrible and the only way to modify it is with custom CSS. But it has only a vague general class of elementor-widget-container. If I edit the CSS for that, lord knows what other parts of the site I'll break. I don't have time now to sleuth out the path for that class that makes it unique.

Hi! Yes I recommend using Hello for all my websites these days. In the course I explain why. But basically its that you want to do as much possible in Elementor and by using Elementor you are forcing yourself to do that. You get maximum customization with Hello.

Sounds good! It can indeed remove the needs for many plugins. My affiliate link can be found on this page: livingwithpixels.com/software/ as well as recommendations for hosting companies besides Elementor hosting. Speaking of Elementor hosting: its a solid option, but you have to do some extra work to connect your domain and domein-email (if you also want that). For beginners I recommend Hostinger. You can also find that one on that page.
12:50 Most importantly: GDPR! At least in Germany and Austria it's normal now to load Google Fonts locally. Lot of peopel got sued for using google fonts.
I don't understand the difference between global widgets and classes. Like, sure you can switch classes quickly, instead of having to swap out widgets. But it's almost the same thing right?
Global widgets keep the content the same. Classes only the design. Which is what you want because content differs, but design does not.
this makes clear that bricks and other builders are already giving better features than elementor does and for 1 time payment.
