Al-Balad comes alive during Ramadan as large numbers of citizens and expats take to its streets, enjoying the heritage and local traditions.
I was walking through Al Balad and to find so many local traditions and food stalls and fruits. I am meeting and tasting food types and fruits from the Arabian region and the locals are kind smiling and hospitable people and my time was so exciting and was full of experiences learning and embracing the local traditions the little time i was able to spend.
I would very much recommend anyone who visit Jeddah to visit the old city for real flavour of Saudi Arabia.
I've tried these fruits in 2006. I used to see the vendor while walking my way to Sarawat market every weekends. I miss Jeddah!
