    Thanks Bill - that was my first of your videos. I have many of those Resident’s works, but certainly not all, on CD. Saw an Ann Arbor Buckaroo show at some point. I may even have joined UWEB, and I always read it as U-WE-B? They sent me a post card once of that old Guinness Book photo of giant worms being held up I think. I am sure I have an Uncle Willies button still. I love Stars & Hank, and a lot more. I started listening in the early eighties in Toledo.

    I just subscribed to your twitch. I recommend checking out the pReserved series from the Residents. Reissuing their early albums with TONS of unreleased stuff. I saw them live thrice. Once with Homer and Hardy and twice with Eric Drew Feldman taking Hardy’s place. My earliest show was 2010

    Very impressive collection, Bill. I'm glad you have the rarer water damaged versions (the Residents would like that as well, I suspect). I always hoped Jandek was a Resident.

    One of my first lot of wages went on buying picture discs of Meet The Residents ,with the original cover on the disc, & The Mole Show. I regret not buying The Third Censored & Roll from a stall in Manchester. I've never seen it since. Seeing Residents LPs in shops over here was a real event.

    I have a copy of Fingerprints. It is rough brownish grey rough card stock cover and a cryptic corp digest description of the goals. Demonstrating the strength of the compositions
    You're busted!!! This has a minute and a half segment of Six things to a cycle that is absent from the black and colorful slick cover. Back to the busted lol. The missing section can be heard on Eskimo (birth) and a commercial album track. Oh bother. Ummm Die in Terror. Lol. Just kidding. It is a very moody ambience and useful for more than one project. Gave me some smiles back in the day but no way to spread the cheese. Oops the cheese is up there. the Residents are comfort music and will always be in me even if not listened too! I love the Residents but Renaldo and the loaf is a not guilty pleasure. I am too old to apologize for what i like. Go Residents Go!

    I haven't seen a copy of my rarest record
    Live in Milano 13-6-83. Mole Show on Semolina Records. Ltd edition of 346 copies. Titled The Third Secret of Fatima. Produced by Adolf Constantinople. Commentary says this was when this Mole Show was at halfway point to completion. That's all i can tell you. I paid $30 in fall 83. When records were $5 it promised to be a special thing. Have searched extensively online and have never seen another copy. ,,,,,,,,, 💪

    I've never heard of The Residents until now. I found this very interesting and will go and hunt around for these.
    It's a shame you original pressings are water damaged. Were they in plastic sleeves at the time ? I'm suspecting not.
    Hey, thanks for the video Bill. You're a nice fellow.
    BTW I noticed you have some LP covers are hole punched and corner snipped up top. What was the significance of this. I hear many conflicting stories about this.

    • @BillsBoxOfSound
      @BillsBoxOfSound  Před 3 lety +1

      I did not start using plastic sleeves on a regular basis until many years after I got those records. The cuts and holes in my Residents record covers are usually to signify promo copies, but I sometimes bought copies that were in cut-out or bargain bins. Collecting by any means possible is sometimes the only option.

    Hey there Bill. This is crazy. After seeing the avatar come up for this video I thought you were holding one of those kids Farmer Says wheels. The ones that you set the arrow in the middle and pull the string. It looked just like one of those. I never knew that you were such a big Residents fan and collector. Now I know you love Zappa and definitely XTC but the Residents was a surprise. Fantastic. Can you suggest one Residents album besides 'Duck Stab' and Meet the Residents that you would tell a newbie to buy?
