Transit Van or Campervan That is the Question?

In this video, I start the strip out of the Transit Mk7, however, I am undecided on whether this will be a campervan build or not.

It certainly is Denise. It has been a challenge dealing with the mechanical bits, but it is to be expected with a 15 year old van.

Read up about "wet belts" before going ahead, and if your van has one, get it removed and replaced with a chain...............

Hi, Its an old van with a timing chain. I would not buy any vehicle with a wet belt even if you paid me. Thanks for your interest.

@@ianwheeler7903 Good to hear! Wet belt failure is VERY expensive! As a matter of interest, what happens when a Transit campervan needs welding for MOT, bearing in mind the loadspace area will be mostly covered with wood?

@@humourless682 Hi, To be truthful, I don't think that I am going to convert this van into a camper due to its age. I will probably just use it as work vehicle instead.

@@ianwheeler7903 Must be a nightmare if you have a Transit camper, and MOT/welding time rolls around again? Never been able to see the attraction of old Transits myself..................lol

@@humourless682 The reason, I thought about converting it in the first place was that it was a cheap van. I was then planning a budget build.
I was going to sell it on for someone to enjoy for a few years to get them into campervans.
I'm just going to use it for work for now as it has 12 months MOT on it.
