I haven't made it to this video in the series yet, it just came up in suggested videos and I wanted to stop and comment...THANK YOU for doing this series. I could find no useful help on using studio 1 and it collected dust for over a year, because I gave up on trying to figure it out myself. Your videos are excellent and VERY helpful. I will soon be recording songs and collaborating with friends. Once again, thank you!

You SAVED me! I cannot tell you how much I appreciate this video. Consise, informative & where I 'thought' I was recording the instruments correctly I wasn't. The use of 'presence' & THEN assigning it a sound of preference / choice, again, ALL OF THIS MAKES PERFECT SENSE TO ME NOW! WHY AM I YELLING! 😂 Well, because this was/is so very helpful, I'm able to now utilize MIDI editing to quantize properly, either 100% Quantize or to introduce a 'human-element' that I discovered just snarfling (if you will) around in the Quatize menus. Do you happen to have a video explaining how to properly 'Quantize?' I realize I may be doing things out-of-order but once again, thank you for sharing this information. INCREDIBLY helpful, Sir! Indeed! Many Thanks! 😉 💜 🍀 🎶

I never thought directly we can connect the keyboard to presonus studio one, earlier I used 1/4 line cable to input 1 of audio box it was always generating buzz sound with no clear recorded sound from digital piano, now im able to connect recital pro without any issues just using the audio box cable directly to laptop. Heartful Thanks

David...I have a Yamaha mx49 keyboard. I'm adding an accordion sound to my recording. I have been having issues with ground loop, so I'm using a DI. I plug into my Audio Interface, Behringer UMC1820, with a balanced cable. Do I set the audio interface to instrument, mic, or line. On Studio One Artist, is it an instrument or audio track. Do I need to register the Yamaha as a new device, since I'm using the audio in. I have been using instrument on the Behringer, but signal is weak. If I run thru my audio board, Peavy FX24, change to line input, the signal is too hot. What am I doing wrong? Help! Thanks, Dale Miller

  • @leoetine

I need help. What if I have a simple Casio keyboard that just has a USB for connection, and I want to record the sounds that the keyboard has, rather than using Studio One's instruments? In other words, if I had quarter-inch connection like my guitar, sure, I could plug it in through my Focusrite 2i2 and record via audiotrack, but since I only have USB, it's seeing it as a MIDI keyboard only. Could I change the Audio out to ASIO4ALL and then use my windows sound as output and somehow set something up to make it work where I can record as an audio track? Or is there a way to record keyboard sounds from my actual keyboard via the USB connection? Please help!! Thank you

4:50 "Crown" icon. That's hilarious! Pretty sure it is symbolizing a keyboard! (top view; notice the black and white keys).
Hey, why doesn't Studio One record the MIDI notes for me? External controller is set up (same one: QX25), Record enabled, monitor on, it sounds when I play, meters show... No MIDI recording! Transport Record button doesn't turn red. 4.6.2.

    • @chaddonal4331

Just found my answer. For whatever reason, my S1 requires 2 pushes of the Record button to become enabled (i.e. turn red and begin recording). Seems odd! I notice you are just pressing it one time. Same thing on my keyboard controller. Dual press required. Never come across that before!

      Change the block size
If you're using studio one click on the studio one button to acces the options tab and under audio setup change the Device Block Size to a lower setting. What you want is the input latency and output latency to be as low as possible so that you cannot personally hear the difference, mine is at 3.08 milliseconds

My Presonus AudioBox USB 96 (Box) arrived this morning. I am not a music tech person, but can manoeuvre stuff. The sole intention of my purchasing this equipment is to record audio (not MIDI) from my Yamaha P115 digital piano. I have now hooked up my piano (L/R aux o/p) to the Instrument 1 input of the Box. The Box is connected to the laptop through the USB cable. I have created a song, clicked mix, looking at my input channels and I can see that they are responding to my keystrokes. I am recording, but I am not seeing any waveform. And when I am playing back, there is nothing. What am I doing wrong?

THEN WHY WATCH?!? i tried abelton it was good for a while then went bad i tried flstudio and presonus and both are good and vastly cheaper than abelton. k mill i dare you try abelton and see if you like presonus better. i swear you will like presonus a fucking hell of a lot better. lmms and abelton were the ones i started out trying as well as others abelton and lmms are the absolute WORST. lmms sounds SUCK and it's very finnicky with vsts while abelton is the same crashes refuses to boot i've had to manually swap to asio to stop latency issues with my guitar and keyboard it freezes while setting up new tracks don't want to work with direct monitor off on the focusrite HATES my electronic drums which are alesis nitromesh i had to research to get them working in abelton because it wouldn't detect nitro mesh so i had to set it up as another model so tell me. WHAT THE HELL WOULD YOU RATHER USE?!? abelton or pre FUCKING sonus because one other thing. i'm still waiting for live lite FUCKING 11. tbh dude i would take fl and presonus over abelton any day. both daws won me over bruh.
