Do you love carbon fiber? Do you love parts that fit perfectly straight out of the box? Then you’ll love these Genuine BMW M Performance trim pieces. In this video, I install the BMW carbon fiber shift knob as well as the gear selector trim. This is a simple mod that only takes about 20 minutes to install. Make sure to grab an interior pry tool, a pick tool, and a T8 torx bit BEFORE you get started 😅

For anyone on a budget, I did a video on how to wrap your trim with carbon fiber vinyl 😎czcams.com/video/QaWkSQ_irxY/video.html
As much as I’d like to buy genuine carbon fibre trim, I could never justify the cost (for what you actually get). I’ve wrapped all my trim in 3M carbon wrap (it has a gloss/matt mixed finish which looks and feels reasonably authentic) and i found the whole process of learning to wrap, along with the finished results; very rewarding.
I’ve not yet attempted to wrap the gear shift surround but it’s on the list and all going well, should look spot on. :)
Keep up the great content and videos! Looking forward to seeing what you’ve got planned in the future.👌🏼

100%
i just ordered like all genuine M-performance interior parts for my f30. Except for the steering wheel.
This is what i bought:
M-performance stainless steel pedals.
M-performance floor mats front and rear.
M Performance Carbon Fiber Trim Kit
M Performance Gearshift Cover
M Performance Shift Knob
M Performance Handbrake cover
M Performance Armrest
i paid about $2100 for this. Really expensive but worth it. i might get the alcantara steering wheel as well to complete the set. my car already got the alcantara seats so it's going to look really good
i was die hard manual, but wanted to go half way house with a semi auto, the ZF8 is amazing and I hardly touch the paddles now in my 2016 Estoril blue 435d Xdrive gran coupe. keep up the great content Justin

I would talk trash, but after experiencing the B58 with auto trans, I am in LOVE with it. SO QUICK AND SMOOTH
I have the entire m performance trim from the dash, to the gear selector to the hand brake to the steering wheel lol. I went nuts. You gave me the inspiration so thank you!
Same
I just bought a 2006 bmw xi.. little late to the party but better late than never.lol... love your videos.. im trying to change little small things that make a huge difference
I fell in love with Manuals ever since my paps got his first Mustang Cobra & 530i but while test driving 320d f31 automatic & manual .. The biggest difference was felt in traffic as you dont have to wave your feet brake/clutch
I bought this kit for my F30 335 and it was worth every penny. Expensive, sure. However, the bare carbon looks and feels amazing and I get to enjoy it every time I’m in the car. Which is a lot lol.
I went from 5 Subaru’s all manual (from 98 outback wagon - 2011 STi) and the 8 speed automatic in the bmw with an inline 6, is butter smooth!
One of the best channels covering f30, thank you for your content! Love my f30 and these videos help SO much 🙏🏼
Glad I can help!
For anyone wanting to do this I highly recommend using a really small flathead. You won’t dent or damage your old part. That way you can keep it or sell it and it won’t be damaged :)
Awesome video as usual!
I cannot agree more ! The auto in the f30 is the best gear box in the market! I love it
currently saving for an F32. Love the videos and will reference back once I get one to do the installs. I am a manual fanboi, I drive an 07 Si Coupe for my daily and have an 03 Boxster S for the weekend car. The Bimmer will be for the wife, But I will drive it on the weekends when the weather doesn't permit Porsche driving.
I went from a mt e46 320d to a zf8 f22 220d and I freaking love the auto
Such a good look, I love it man.
Good job with the filming!
Thank you!!
I need to completely overhaul my tan interior one day with the bmw genuine trim pieces. Looks so good!
I like the blooper thing at the end. Nice touch!
Massive Jerry Rig Everything vibes on the voice over ;) Great video bro!
Now all your need is to get the ambient lighting cover trim to cover the factory L.E.D It'll light up the door trim more. 👍
Even though I still prefer the E90, can't stop watching your videos. Keep up the good work Justin 🙌🏻
Thanks for sticking around!
Keep updating us with the F30 sick ass car bro
Insert the tip of your tool into the bottom and gently push in👀 great advice Justin 😅
I rented a wrangler and although not a sports car, the zf 8 speed was my favorite part. I plan on getting an f80 and think the zf will be what I go with.
Just started watching your vids and also just picked up my first bmw. Mines an e92 though but I still enjoy your vids. As a fellow hands on type of guy I strongly recommend an electric impact driver. If you like the electric ratchet you'll love a good impact. And no they aren't ideal for delicate jobs but for anything with bolts you'll ask yourself how you ever made it without one. And like a drill you can use as much torque as you need with them so you don't strip stuff. For example Wheel removal and installs become a breeze then a simple torque and done. And zipping through under the hood bolts.. it's literally like a cheat code for bolts haha. And as far as brands go, any of the main big names are just as good as the rest imo. But yeah man try one out! It will change your life haha. Good luck and keep the vids coming
You should make a video about pros and cons with manual vs automatic transmissions, just interesting to hear your thoughts about it.
Pros: automatic is faster/ more convenient
Cons: not as fun/ less mpg
@@ruskibruski automatics tend to get better gas mileage
The ZF8 in the f30 holds more torque than the stock clutch would on a manual f30
pick manual if you really want to jerk off the shifter every 5 seconds when your driving in the city, or you can get a DCT which lets you shift manually or automatically and is way faster
I have a manual myself, but I find it interesting to hear what other people think.
I'm M/T preferred guy but when I drove an A/T CVT car recently, I liked it but not as much as M/T. Feels complicated but driving is simple.
Bought a 2006 Acura TSX 6-speed new. First thing I did was put a short shift kit in. Then drove a 2017 M240 xDrive with the zf8 auto trans...don't REALLY miss the TSX....
sheeeeesh lookin mint with those.
Well this CF trim kit its definitelly on my bucket list (F32 440xi)
Totally agree 👍 auto all the way been a man fan all my life till I tried it
No going back now
I was just like you, a true manual fanboy, but after buying my first automatic car, damn I have to admite they are way better than manual. If you can have 2 cars, get an automatic for daily drive etc and a second car like the FRS etc with manual just to have fun and still enjoy revving it up
Nice video...so tempted to go get the genuine carbon fibre goodies from the 'stealers' now 😉👍
Your the guy to ask I got a bmw gt 15 plates last week I wood like to make my car a lot more nose from the exhaust which is the best way to go about it
You need to hit up Fastenal for little stuff like T8 bits. We sell them individually or you can order it in. Just a thought!
Looks so good!!! Especially on the red. I just wish it wasn't so expensive lol
Your interior is looking better than a m3. Looks dope dude😍
I was afraid to drive manual for the longest time in fear of burning the clutch a lot. Drove my dads m2 comp this weekend and loved it, also learned how to drive manual pro gator utility carts on my golf course so I’ve gotten some great practice this weeo
Same here man I haven’t drove a manual, I haven’t got a chance too, anyways I too fear about breaking something 😂
When I bought my first manual car (scion xB) I had never driven manual before. My dad had to test drive it and drive it home for me. Then he took me to an empty parking lot and I practiced for an hour. I had to drive to school and work the next day so I had to learn pretty quick!
@@justinbuice haha that’s awesome man I’m thinking bout asking my dad to teach me sometime soon, I probably won’t learn in a day but I’m learn 😆
Left a Mazdaspeed 3 for this car. Do miss the stick but man this ZF is too good.
Nice watch bro love seeing your grow your channel keep it up bro 💪
Thank you!
Hey, I had the same experience as you with changing to automatic. Live in the UK so almost everyone starts off driving stick. I was never going to get an automatic until my car was in the body shop and they lent me a Golf GTI automatic for a few days. Driving that car change my mind and was so sad to give it back that my next car was the one I have now, F32 automatic. Its a lot of fun and I don't really miss the manual gearbox.
Great video by the way, interior of your car looks great 👍
Sounds similar to my experience driving my friend’s auto 335i. In the US almost all cars are automatic by default and in the car community, driving a manual has long been what signifies that someone is a true car enthusiast. But nowadays, the performance advantages of modern automatics are too good to ignore.
@@justinbuice I agree, automatic gearboxes have come a long way. 30 years ago I drove an auto bmw, can't remember the model but the drive was so boring, nothing going on at all. Put me off for years. I may have mentioned in another comment here that one of my cars used to be an S2000, so I was all in with the manual back to basics driving by the seat of your pants style 😉 but now with a modern automatic you just seem to have the best of both worlds, easy drive for the daily commute and spirited driving when you want it.
Because in the UK most cars are manual, to own one doesn't really have the same enthusiast's credibility, it's more what type and model you have, in fact most performance cars here are the auto's
I see someone has commented to ask you to do a comparison between auto and manual, I would be really interested to see that. You could include how they are perceived in different countries, here in the UK your Mum drives stick!🤣
Anyway, nice to chat, keep the content coming, always excited to see a new video from you 😀
“If you’re feeling adventurous, you can set it to W for Wumbo” lmfaooooooooo
hi, i've just flashed my f32 430d with an alpina tune should i be concerned with the extra torque or any other long term problems...?
When do you suggest to do a carb/intake valve clean on the b58?
man what a beautiful interior
Thank you!
Perfect the only thing I don't like its on the trim says "M Perfomance" but the rest is lovely ✌
I thought about dying the “performance” part black but I dont want to mess it up considering the price 😅
I wish they had a kit without the alcantara I feel like that would get dirty quickly.
My gear slector has the smaller park button and shape. Will this still work?
Looks beautiful! Don't worry haters. Do and use what makes you 😊 happy. Love your videos as always.
Thank you so much!
What about carbon fiber interior trims for the f10 5 Series
That looks so good! Gonna do the steering wheel trim next to match I bet? 😉
I just got the BMW display wheel in the mail 🤫
Wumbo Motorsport is no joke, don't sleep on them!
My first automatic was a 6-speed DSG in my old 2008 VW CC. The car also had paddle shifters on the steering wheel. I'll tell you right now, I never wanted to go back to a manual since then. Why would I wanna use inferior technology when high-tech automatic gearboxes exist?
Do these interior pieces work with pre LCI!
Yo my bmw is telling me transmission malfunction does anyone have any advice and every minute there’s a slight light malfunction it’s always something with these cars I hate it
Now all you need to do is change the instrument cluster with the one with the extended scope, and a heads up display, trust me its WORTH IT!!! Especially if you want to really feel that you are inside Darth Vader's ship 🤣
🔥🔥🔥
Wumbology baby, lesgoooooo!
When the ceramic button for the idrive?
I think I would definitely put it to W for wumbo but that’s just me
W for Wumbo!! 🤣 good one.
the Manual gearbox just doesnt feel thrilling much on the Non M cars, plus the ZF8 is just Godly
Every Bmw f30 videos upload pls
Why can't I find carbon fiber interior pieces for my F06 640i
why does the head rest go all the way to the roof?
I'm here Justin gud shit bro
I love my f30 328i m sport with auto
look sick
Hi will it fit on bmw 2017 330ix?
Where did you get the shit knob with the m
what is the background song?
I'm trying to do this for my E60
Nice Justin
Side question though. I notice you're usually wearing a Seiko SKX in videos. But this time, you have it on a nice bracelet. Looks good.
What bracelet is it?
Thank you! This is a Seiko SRP777 turtle. I recently got a Genuine Seiko oyster bracelet for it. I used to have it on a cheap silicone strap but I didn’t like how it didn’t conform to the curve of the case like the steel bracelet does
@@justinbuice oh I didn't realize it was a Turtle. Very nice man.
I've got a couple Seikos but tend to rock a Hamilton most days.
Any for a 2011 335i e90?
All the interior needs now is a digital cluster to finish it!
Does Kiesmotorsports have any wooden trims for the F30? I look online and see a very limited selection
I’ll ask Bryan. I know they can get parts directly from BMW, sometimes it’s just a matter of getting them listed for sale on the site
How're you liking the MST intake as a whole now that you've owned it for a while? I had one on my F30 335i but found it to be a bit much for my taste while casually driving. Although tbf, my car is quieter as I only have the MPE. The sound during hard acceleration was great.
I actually love it. This is my first turbo car so I love all of the sounds that come along with it. I’m also a little boy on the inside 😅🐌💨
Nice!
why you had to make this video now your gonna make me splurge on this 😂😂😂
I believe different gearboxes suit different cars, when it comes to BMW or Mercedes I think in 99% of their cars their auto boxes are better suited than their manuals especially with Mercedes.
every time I see one of these vids it makes me want an F30 so bad
Get it 😈
Nice but extremely expensive for just the shifter. Are you running a stage 2 tune?
Currently stage 1
Hi, will you at some point add a 6WB cluster?
Looking into it 😁
Just needs ambient lighting
Beautiful 🇩🇪
Dream spec interior!! Except for the Idrive controller that doesn’t look that good. Go with the touch one if you can (if you are going to do the cover, just leave this one, the cover is trash)
Im looking into it although from what Ive read it’s a lot more involved than simply swapping the controller
F
W for WUMBO!? who is this guy!?
Carbon fiber steering wheel silver part
How much HP is your 340i pushing at the moment? Further plans for tuning?
Currently 364 HP and 386 lb ft. Im enjoying it where it’s at for now 😅
Justin, you got it going on bra
Smothnesss~~~
Justin I need help with my tpms it keeps stopping at 49%
Mine did that too. You need to have a tire shop confirm that all four sensors have been activated. One of my rear tires wasn't connecting to the car and they had to re-program it
@@justinbuice thanks alot hopefully I won't have to buy new sensors
i've been a diehard manual guy for 16 years... then i bought my automatic F30
u gonna upgrade ur idrive nob?
@3:40 That's what she said!
🤣
Most European motor journalists would say BMW ZF's 8-speed AT is the best in the business.
Ironically, they also mostly say BMW's MT are terrible, and would recommend topping up for AT instead. For a brand known as Ultimate Driving Machine, they're quite mediocre on making MT.
Sadly BMW isn’t the same company they were when they came up with that slogan. The cars are getting bigger and softer with more emphasis on technology than the driving experience. That being said, the ZF 8 speed paired with the B58 is incredible.
for that price of the OEM parts, one can purchase another little car 😂
Yeah I think all these trim pieces combined would cost the same as what I paid for my first car 😅
daily car - auto
fun car - manual
Check the prices, and yeah, think I'm going to stick with my vinyl wrap 😂
Nothing wrong with that! I did the wrap on the FR-S and it looks great
💯🔥🔥
"W for Wumbo" lol
🤣
That’s what she said.
