I think people with negative comments be hating on the restaurant. I seen a few worst food reviews you did and the food wasn’t bad at all lol plus that chicken , greens and macaroni would of came home with me after the review
You think every restaurant is going to give the same effort to an ordinary joe off the street than they do for a guy holding a camera, a phone and making reviews? C'mon. They give reviewers their A game, everyone else gets their day-2-day.
I try to only do a review if the place is good. If it’s bad, I just stay away. If the food is bomb though and there’s inconsistencies, potential, ect, I like to drop 5 star reviews and include my constructive criticism. Hating on a small biz restaurant on Yelp is weird imo. Basically, I agree with you.
@@P5YcHoKiLLa I don’t know this for a fact, but seeing as Daym has been in Burger King commercials I’m assuming many restaurants pay HIM to drop by and do a review, and I doubt he pays for food due to the marketing he’s giving the restaurant.
We have to give the restaurant the benefit of the doubt that they serve every costumer the same. It’s been true in any kitchen I’ve worked in. Cooks and restaurant owners are usually very focused on the food being right no matter the costumer.

I think it's just that social media gives everyone a megaphone so we just hear more about the outrage. Just me two cents. What do you think? I'm mid 30s, btw and had a blast in the 90s.
That's why public opinion shouldn't matter when it comes to places where food is served.

You gotta start having someone else come in, sit down and order for you then you walk in once they've got your food so people stop making things special when they see the big shot reviewer walk in.

He addressed this in the comments on the last review. These are done early in the morning because that’s when he has time for it as he’s a multiple business owner , tv show, commercials and other marketing strategies. On top of being a father . While running a CZcams channel
I would go to that "worst" rated restaurant anytime. It looks great.

I love that they have a 2 piece wing choice. Sometimes I just wanna sample a wing or 2 with my meal. Not have 6 or 8 as a “side”
I was very shocked to see My Wife Didn't Cook featured on "the worst". I have never had a bad meal or bad service from them. Their food is amazing! I live in NYC, but whenever Im in the area I always try and make it a priority to stop by.
That place looked very good. even the bathroom was on point. I'm not sure if it was the mic you had or if the chicken was actually the crunchy but geez

I think that it was so sweet for the chef to ask when the video was going to be posted. It gave me the impression that he cares.

I live in a super small town. Always support local businesses if I can. I love going to mom and pop spots too when I travel. Keep killing the game!
When I used to drive over the road I allways stopped at the Mom & Pop truck stops whenever I could. The food was by far better quality than the chain type truck stops.
Seriously! That crunch on the 🐔 made me hungry for some soulfood. We can do without all that salt on the chicken, but I totally agree with you about the 🌽 bread.
Looks like some damn good wings to me. I can hear the crunch and that's all I need to know.

I just watched your series. I was so upset I finished it in one day. I couldn’t get my eyes off of it. My daughter eyes were glued to the screen. She couldn’t even focus doing her homework. I don't trust 5-star ratings as those can be fixed to make the place look good on the surface, until you get close enough to smell the bull. Also, I thought the name of the restaurant was Daym saying his wife didn't cook.
I don't trust 1 star ratings either personally because people are hyperbolic. It's the moderate reviews that you gotta go for. When you go to a 1 or a 5 it's rarely due to anything but bias

The minute I saw the cornbread muffin I knew that it was not going to taste good. I've never had chicken and waffles. The greens looked juicy. The Mac was not as creamy as I would have liked. I'm from Texas and we have huge cornbread muffins with plenty of butter. Good review 👍

Wow, I loved watching this video. Being a woman raised in the "South" I come correct.
I remember one "Soul Food" Restaurant in the DMV that everyone swore by; turns out their veggies were from the can. The kitchen door swung open and I witnessed big cans of veggies on the shelves.
My grandma taught us how to cook; Soul Food is cooking with love, put your time and heart into every dish. That means peeling potatoes; Cleaning and seasoning greens and green beans; homemade mashed potatoes; homemade from scratch desserts etc. And Sweet Tea that will make your mouth 💧🚰.

I think I would like to try basic chicken wings dipped in a side of the Hennessey sauce. That way it retains the crunch, while not negating the full flavor of the sauce. The trick that I've seen to making fried chicken so juicy on the inside, is to make sure you brine the chicken overnight before you it's battered and fried. Great video, I'm hooked.
