- After a screening of his new film, "Sound City", Dave Grohl did a Q&A. Sorry for quality problems, I was not prepared to film for the event, just had my camera with me and decided to record instead of take pictures. I hope you enjoy his wisdom as we did.

25:55 - 26:00 sweetest thing ever!! that totally made me melt!! what a cool guy to say something like that and great timing :)
this man is a fucking legend
This.is.why.Dave.Grohl.is.AMAZING. So simple. He loves music so he makes music. The end.
this man is a legend
me at 23:53, and i meant it-he's brilliant and a badass! best night of my life. Dave Grohl honestly is the nicest man of rock and roll. he not only signed books, posters, etc. for me and my friends, he also took the time to take pictures with all of us. truly an inspiration!
I totally believe all of this you are saying!! But what did you say at that point, I couldn't hear it. I didn't hear what the girl was asking right before that either, just heard her say I know you are like a high school dropout and everything but...and then he said what the fuck is that supposed to mean LOL, so I couldn't figure out what she was asking haha!!
she asked him to sign something i think...it was a few years ago so i don't remember what it was. YES I DO, it was her high school graduation cap! when he asked me to be nice i responded saying that i thought he was brilliant and a badass.
He now only signs things for charitable reasons. .
People were selling his signed materials for big profits and that was just wasted effort .
I love you Dave🥰 for who you are, Your perspective on music & life, the ease at which you speak and respond to questions and the compassion that you give to those in the audience ✌️
That was awesome! Thanks for recording this Q&A. It's making my several hour wait for my car being serviced go by fast.
"Everyone's worried about asteroids, fuck that; turn on the radio, THAT will scare the shit outa you."
-Dave Grohl
Thank god that’s changed. I like the direction pop is going.
Dave is a comfortable open speaker . His mother was a teacher who taught speaking skills . Even though she may not have taught him , I hope that he realizes that she probably influenced him and gave him confidence in order to be comfortable speaking and performing in front of crowds .
Dave said his Mom would give elocution assignments at the dinner table. She also taught speech and debate. His father was a speech writer in DC, and a journalist.
Totally agree about the feelings & comparisons with music ♥️
I"ve watched this video a million times.. THIS is exactly why Dave Grohl is a legend. He loves his fans and is humble about his life. What rock star would ever take this kind of time to talk to his fans like this? He is just beyond pure awesomeness!!! HE JUST WINS ON EVERY LEVEL! He would not know, and never ever will, but he has helped me with my own life. I think the world of him as just as person.
More people need to see this!
THAT LATE OF THE PIER ALBUM IS THE SHIT OMG DAVE G APPROVES MY TASTES!!!
Inspiring.
I love you Dave Grohl !
Love Dave! He’s a great Dad and he’s taught his daughters well....Beatles, c’mon!! THE best guy ever!!
Dave Grohl is my inspiration to make music and enjoy music, he is such a down to earth man, and he’s so kind! Also, he’s hilarious!😂😂😂❤️👏🏼And he makes LEGENDARY music!! And he’s hot....😂😍💖😘🔥That’s why Dave Grohl is my inspiration....😍😍🌸😘❤️💖🎶🤘🏼🌼✨ X
I so relate to what he is saying about music performed by people. I heard some junk on the radio and it was devoid of musicians. I made my granddaughter show me the playlist on her phone. I was so relieved. Her dad has raised her right. There was real music. In fact, she had some songs from Nirvana.
there is such beauty in simplicity. Nothing beats the real thing. Computers dont sound the same as the real thing.
David Aaron Grohl is 1 of 1. That is his key to success and long term popularity. He is the BEST. ❤
justin....fresh pot!!!
What's with the edit around 28:00...Around the Estelle comment ?
JamesScottGuitar That's what I'm wondering lol.
@@davidv1880 Still wondering
@timothy - I think it was along the lines of "was it hard/nerve wracking to interview all those musicians?"
Really lucky guy right here
FRESH POTS!!!!!!
People who ask questions should have been given a mic.....
I'm going to see the Foo Fighters in concert in London in September: first one for me, second one for my daughter. But I play some of their "fucking" awesome songs on the guitar. ;-) Now, I need your help guys here. My daughter's birthday is 2 days before the concert in London. she will be 28 years old, has been a fan of the FF as long as they exist. She wants to meet Dave Grohl and the band personnally, meet and greet, or however you call this, I would love to have an autograph too or may be 5 minutes to chat with these guys. What do I have to do to be able to grant this wish to my daughter? I want to surprise her, you know, really surprise her. I think she would never, ever forget. I am thankful for all ideas and comments, and help of course. Love you guys out there, Keep listening to music, music is life, music connects people. Hope to read from you. thanks again. Love, from Luxembourg.
Did you manage?
I have heard alot of people take Daves whole dont take lessons speech as dont learn theory and I just dont think that is the case. He obviously knows theory.
