You are so proficient it's truly a testament to your character that you would make a "FAIL" video concerning the bolt jaw tongs. Well done Roy.
I love the simplicity of your approach to tong design. Many others are unnecessarily intricate and time consuming to make. Your method allows for the tongs to be made quickly and efficiently allowing one to get back to working on projects much sooner. So often, I struggle with the dilemma of deciding whether I should take the time to make the tool to make my work easier or to fight my way through the project with the tools that I have and just get it done. I believe that your tong design is the balance between the two.
You are doing a great job on the tong videos as you always do on your the information you provide us. Thank you and God bless 📖✝
I've never seen them made. Nice work Roy!
Nice tongs. Keep them coming. Really enjoy watching your vlogs. The best part is being able to go back and look at something you might be having issues with. Thanks again. Cya in the morning..
I've always wondered what you'd use the flat horn for on an anvil. Any chance we can see a video on that? Maybe see something forged entirely on the flat horn. Great videos.
Good stuff, they would be so handy when smithing.
nice tongs Roy, as usual, very clean work!
Great video so much detail and information thank you !
Great stuff Roy very informative video like always
Hey Roy, great video. I would be interested in seeing what you made to hold tools around the anvil. Looks like you have quite a few tools handy right on the anvil post. I have been thinking about how to do mine. Could use some ideas. If you already did this then disregard. Keep up the good work.
Good job 👏
6" = 152mm +/-
Let the rest of the world figure out the conversions. It's better than accidental misinformation Roy. 👌
I like to, before bending the jawls, to put them into a vise and set up the tips a bit into a slight flare, and them hot chisel some checkering on them. The bit of extra grip helps, I feel, especially for round pieces to pick up.
Ooo... pinchy. 👍👍
You got me good 😂
I was drawing it out and i was at 200 and I'm like... damn this is getting thin.. i kept going and was like yeah something is wrong here 😂
Loving the vids! What brand weight is that anvil? It’s beautiful!
What "Brand" Model and weight is your anvil and where did you buy it?
Did you draw the reins on a power hammer?
Don't get too hung up on the Metric Roy - and I'm English. Stick with the inches, there's nothing wrong with Imperial at all. Virtually all rules and tapes in the UK are still marked in both Imperial and Metric anyway.
Leave the metrics to the europeans...just go with what you know.
