See the Harley tax here is that you not only have to buy the WHIM, pay to have it installed, pay to have the boom box flashed, AND buy a H-D branded headset. Such a scam.

Clear video. You helped to decide NOT to buy the WHIM because of the stereo audio limitation to H.D. helmets only.
Garmin Zumo was already able to connect in stereo with all kind of brands in 2008.... HD shame on you that in 2014 you were not able to connect headsets to your boom radio's. And stereo is now only to working with HD branded headsets?.... I'm so glad that there is no HD branded fuel imagine that your HD only starts if you use HD branded fuel, which will cost double the price.....
Nice video. However the whim module update on the 2020-2021 CVO'S are located under the seat near the tank. Not under the side cover.
Thank you for the information. I had the WHIM installed on my 2014 FLHTCU and the instructions in the documentation suggest to locate it under the right side cover.

Sir, my question to you is can I use this 30k headset on a half helmet. I ask because I do not like the one who on the video that goes behind my head. I have a new Harley halo helmet and it has speaker pockets. Thank you
Does the Harley Branded Sena 30K mounting hardware support earbuds? I can’t hear the speakers, so the earbuds are needed.
Hi there, Yes next to the boom microphone input is a jack for earbuds. You also have a Aux input for ipods etc...Let me know if you have any other questions!

Hi Vince, I recently upgraded to a 2021 FLTKR and bought the WHIM and Harley Davidson 20S EVO installed with the purchase of the bike. One problem I'm having while attempting to use the phone with my 20S is that although the 20S speakers work and I can hear the call, the 20S mic does not pick up and transmit my voice? Would you be able to help with any recommendations for this? I do know that the mic works a I can "hey Siri" and that works using the wireless 20S mic, but when on a phone call the 20S mic does not work? Thank you for any thoughts you may have on this!
Maybe, and I have not tried this yet, when on a phone call and I want the 20S mic to work I have to press and hold the "talking man" button? I have not tried to use that talking man button that you reference in this video as I've never before had a bike with that button and don't know what it's for?

Hi. What do you mean by “HD branded solution is an aftermarket Sena solution”? When you say “adaptive mesh network” do you mean I can connect via Bluetooth to a rider behind me, that’s in my group, but is using a Sena Bluetooth system and not a HD Whim?

Sena makes the headsets for H-D. H-D adds their branding, documentation, warranty and software settings (in the Boom Box) and an exclusive "software codec" to improve sound quality and to broadcast in stereo from the source (Boom Box) to your headphones. All the Sena/H-D headsets "Bluetooth" to each other but only the Sena and H-D Model 30k* uses adaptive mesh network to connect.
• Universal Intercom: Ability to connect with any headset via Bluetooth regardless of manufacturer
• Bluetooth Intercom: Ability to wirelessly communicate with other riders (up to 4-way intercom)
* Mesh Intercom Network: Ability to wirelessly communicate with other riders without pairing, Up to 16-way intercom (private mode) / Virtually limitless within 1 mi/1.2 Km (public mode)

@@SeacoastHarleyDavidson Specific to Apple Car Play. Is the WHIM and headset still needed for it to work?
@@ParadigmReptiles No changes to the Boom Box GTS the H-D headsets or Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for 2021. To get "Apple CarPlay" working it needs to see a microphone (this requirement was made by Apple in their latest iOS). The microphone can be a:
physical connection with cord (using a 7 pin DIN connection)
or a wireless connection using the "Wireless Headset Interface Module" (WHIM).
Note: Apple CarPlay and Android Auto also require a physical USB connection found under the fairing lids.
For 2021 H-D is supporting Rockford Fosgate Speakers and Amps for Stage 1 & 2 sound upgrades!

Harley needs to join the 21st Century. Ridiculous this isn't standard
$159.95 and direct from china it is 18.99....... both from china WIM 299.95 plus 400 labor when it should already be supported. and then HD blocking stereo on the headset without the HD logo..... This really ticks me off. I understand making a profit but leaving me pregnant is not right.
Why does he pronounce it "Harley Davison?" Does he not know that there is a second "d" in "Davidson?" Sea Coast Harley "Davison".

WHIM is very stupid why you put screen if I can’t use apple CarPlay?!! And why Apple CarPlay, but android is working fine without headset connection?!! Because he knows the most of the people in America use the apple devices. He need to push the people to pay more for the company really I’m disappointment because I was had Goldwing and this is a free in the Goldwing. I’m shocked when shifting to the Harley. Also, the stupid thing you need only use the Cardo from Harley if you have sena not allowed it to use

Setting up your BoomBox, bluetooth, system options, headsets, WHIM, etc... should be explained by your dealer not a CZcams Video. We have workshops on a regular basis at Seacoast H-D and I help all my clients with setup and questions during the initail sales walkaround. After the sale, I send out links via email on many subjects and I encourage them to come back in with questions. I have never turned away a visitor in need! I also train our sales staff and service writters on many subjects so we can all help.
