- Dyson's first motorised powerhead cleaner the DC05 Motorhead is unboxed in this video. I rather like this Dyson as unlike the other Motorhead canister cleaners they produced, this one is compact and fairly light.
Once cleaned up, new filters fitted and the short in the power head sorted, this cleaner will take pride of place in my ever growing Dyson collection. Hopefully a full demo will follow at some point. - Jak na to + styl
Lovely machine.just got mine too. I rate it the best cannister dyson have ever made.
Had a good chuckle at the intro
Another great video, thanks for the look at this one! I was lucky to get to use one of these in the US with its proper voltage. This preceded the DC07, the first Dyson actually sold here, so they never produced them for US electrical systems. I wish Dyson had made power nozzle canisters more similar to this than the two they did produce for the US market, the DC21 and DC23 Motorheads, both of which you have and I had but didn't keep because the hose handle was so bulky to use for anything other than a grip for the power nozzle they might as well have been uprights.
I'm sure you can can import one of these and use it with a step up transformer
I think this model was made on the 16 of January on 1992
Love the box cutter cabinet LOL! Great intro
Dyson is not one of my brands but I do love that all clear body.
I think it could be the clips that hold the nozle on are loose so as you move back it disconnects, or there could be a loose wire connection.
I have 2 of these waiting to make one good one when I get time
nice vid mate
Roger I love your videos, but please could you do a demo on the dyson dc 15. Thanks LT.
My dad has one
The clear plastic is probably due to it being a later one. This was the case with the DC07s. Certain coloured parts were replaced with clear ones. Unusual that the whole machine is clear though. Perhaps an exclusive.
Regarding the cutting out, it appears from what I can examine from the video, it is the ring contacts in the elbow of the nozzle, where is swivels.
All DC05 Motorheads had clear plastic. Nothing to do with it being a late one or an exclusive.
As much as I hate Dyson I’ve had a few of these. All mine had the clear plastic same as yours Think I’ve had 5 of them. 3 of them had duff brushroll bearings or brush housings
Hi roger great video I had a dc05 many years ago didn’t last long, now I own a Kirby Avalir
I’ve just had new carpet put down and I was wondering what carpet washer you would recommend, I have a vax rapid ultra at the moment but it is very old now and is a bit worse for wear, hope you are all ok and send my love to the doggies
Many thanks jake
Love my Avalir! The carpets always feel fluffier when I use it
I’ve always found that if the first thing that I do after vacuuming with my Kirby is walking barefoot, I can feel the difference between it and my other seven vacuums are five of which are from premium manufacturers too. There’s nothing like a Kirby. Mine is forty six years old, has never had a problem but has been serviced for regular maintenance three times. My Kirby was used daily for three decades and I now use other machines most of the time. I have three other uprights one of which is used only after cleaning the rugs with dry cleaning powder, and four canisters that I use regularly and still clean mostly every day. However because of the Kirby’s ability to clean as deeply as you’ve notice I still find that it’s imperative to use it at least once if not twice per month to retain that characteristic in the house.

What Kirby do you own?
Do you still have this?
Yeah the other models aren't clear. A friend of mine has a dc05 absolute and it's grey, yellow and purple
Only the Motorhead model was clear.

Hi ibaisaic - Did you resolve the issue with the DC05 Motorhead wand? My DC05 Motorhead has juts developed the same problem. The Motorhead is powered when connected directly to the handle - but when I connect the wand it has no power. - Thanks Mark
Yes, I bought a new wand.
It was shipped to the retailer 06/07/2013
I'm sure that spring hurt when it hit your face
It's a shame Dyson don't produce cylinders with electric floor heads.
Danei I they do
Which model ..?
@@mcquangnguyen1123 Do they still? Not in the US, wish they did.
Jack
It is from 2001
Incorrect. It's made in Malaysia which would mean it's from anywhere from 2002.
That was made in 2001.
