All Garrett needs is a Qb! He goes from cj stroud to zw and Co he's open dam near all the time. The way he gets in and out of his cuts his catching abilities he's atop 10 -15 wr right now in my opinion. He wants to win and this year should be special

I loved this film analysis. has me really pumped up for the season. again! ran out of time to listen to the whole show unfortunately. i'll just drop my comments here. Keep up the good work Coach Fialkow.
the 1st clip - i know from soccer that sometimes a locker room issue affects on field performance and a player won't pass to someone with whom there's some unpleasantness. was there some friction between WR Wilson & QB Wilson? or are we at a point where QB Wilson is saying "just don't turn the ball over" or "i don't trust my eyes/throws to risk getting the ball properly to WR Wilson".
OC Hackett had designed plays for QB Rodgers. Was the 1st clip such a case? how might have the play been drawn up so that QB Wilson could have been comfortable to throw the ball. you know what? don't answer that. swap out QB Wilson and put in QB Taylor into that sentence. How would a play be drawn up so that QB Taylor would be comfortable to throw that deep ball?
clip 2 would be insane if it was WR Williams with his 50-50 ball talent running that route since the time it would take for the ball to travel, the S could cover the distance to make it a contested catch. however with a well placed deep ball, hitting WR Wilson in stride, this play had house-call written all over it (edit - oh, i see you said just as much in the text). max protect too.
clip 3 - while a well placed ball to WR Wilson would have been a huge chunk play or even a TD if correctly placed, however, QB Boyle is about to get hit if he holds the ball long enough for WR Wilson to shake free. ATL has 6 on the LoS and rush 4. #27 S Grant breaks through vs FB Bawden (who pushes a blitzing S Grant into C Tippmann who is busy blocking ILB Elliss and doesn't even realize S Grant is being handed off. FB Bawden leaves S Grant to stop a looping ILB Elliss. even if C Tippmann was aware of S Grant, he was in no position to block him w/o a penalty) and is running free at the passer when QB Boyle is supposed to release the ball. if it were QB Rodgers in this case, i'd just want him to crumple and not take the hit. be interesting to see what gives in 2024 - the aversion to give the Jets almost any form of RtP or respect for QB Rodgers. Bottom line, for this to be a TD, the OL has to do a better job of setting up protection. maybe QB Rodgers under center gets the protections right. looked again, QB Boyle isn't even looking at WR Wilson when WR Wilson is even with the DB and could have had time to throw a good deep ball before getting hit.
clip 4 - great effort by WR Wilson but down & distance might have had something to do with this play. the LoS is at the 27 and the marker at the 37. the way TEX is playing this so aggressively i'm going to say its 3rd & 10. (found it on the play-by-play 3rd & 9 to start the 2nd quarter, no score. the Jets lost the challenge). If WR Wilson had gotten the hot throw early, he might have made the sticks or he might have made the deep safety miss in the open field for a TD but there's a chance the LB gets over to stop WR Wilson short. due to down & distance i understand why QB Wilson didn't throw the ball hot and behind the sticks.
last clip - the Jets could pull an Evil Hoodie and run same plays with different personnel. you could easily have WR Corley, WR Gipson, TE Conklin running this crossing route. or run wrinkles, for example a screen to the RB (not that QB Rodgers throws many screens). if it was a FB coming out of the backfield, you could throw a WR bubble screen and let the FB lead block
