    My ultramarathon was meant to be this week. I had hoped to be running through the finishing line as I was giving the update so I’m sorry for being a bit bummed out. I am so proud of everyone setting goals: I’ve heard about so many of you running your first run in years, shooting for 5kms, 10kms, half marathons, marathons and ultras. You can’t imagine how freaking proud it makes me. It’s never about how big the goal looks on the outside, but how much it means to you and how much self-belief it helps build. No workout in today’s video as I’m really resting up and taking time away from running/the gym, but a new boyf for me thanks to all of you generous people 💗🤍
    Just want to mention: the race wasn't Western States. I'm not ready yet but I appreciate the faith! I'll be doing a different race in a few weeks, once I've had a little rest and worked on some more rehab for my ankle (: Can't wait to make it happen!

      @@natachaoceane ⭐️🌞 it was beautiful. I ran another one a month later just because of how beautiful the journey was. The second one had a lot of uphill and was such a challenge, but I just kept reminding myself to take it slow and keep myself in that “I can still have a conversation” range and was able to make it to the end. Seriously though your advice and your positive are so helpful. I love how you tackle fitness and I truly think you are a positive influence in the world. Sending Good vibes your way! ⭐️🌞🥰

That’s exactly how I aim and hope for fitness to feel for people: so enjoyable and fulfilling that you actually look forward to coming back to it, so it would be so much harder to stop than it would to keep going 🤍 you’ve nailed it, just watch the progress roll in as a result!

      I’m ugly crying. I know how that feels to the core. You inspired me to balance running and weightlifting. I’ve been consistent last year, but unfortunately for the past 3 months I need to stop exercising because my heart rate would increase to 170-200 bpm due to hyperthyroid. Even a light walk will make me tired. It sucks so bad, I feel like a disappointment.
      Watching this video makes me happy and even eager to get healthier. I’m so glad you also prioritize your health. Lets focus on our recovery together❤

    Ultramarathoning is such a mental game and I lost my confidence a little lately. I’m really focussed on rebuilding though: sleep, ankle rehab + time away are my current strategy. I hope you know you’re a huge part of my inspiration, I'm so fired up by your passion and brilliance and kindness so thank you 🌈 I’m so pumped to break 100.

    For anyone who has suffered from a physical injury (either due to work or pushing themselves too hard) it's so important to see someone like you choose to take a break. We already put pressure on ourselves and you literally have the pressure of millions of people, and you were strong enough to take a break.

To be honest, putting your ego aside and not doing it by prioritising your health is being a far better role model and being more inspirational than doing it and destroying your body in the process. So much fitness related content and challenge content is based on not stopping, no pain no gain mentality and it’s wrong. So well done Natacha 👏🏻 you’re sending the right message x

I could have gone for it given that I wouldn’t have caused a lasting injury, I’m just trying to recover my energy so I can make an even better attempt soon 🫶

      some people DO need to push themselves as much. I mean she’s tried so many things most of us wouldn’t. Trying is one thing, trying smartly is another level but this seems to have come from a place of deep wisdom of her knowing her body and her mental state, through other physical challenges and tests. There are other races, she can still try. Sure they say it wouldn’t cause an everlasting injury, maybe, but it’s not exact science. All it takes is one split second of inattentiveness, or that one last mile then 15 years later you are still kicking yourself, (with your 100% good ankle 😊). Life’s a gamble but worse looking back and knowing you should have listened to yourself.

    Laying on the couch, covered in hives, watching this very needed advice to be okay with giving ourselves the space we need. Stress and stressful events got me here, and that’s okay. It’s okay to need time to heal. Thank you. I can’t wait to be out there exercising again and feeling the air in my lungs. You let no one down, you do quite the opposite with your honesty.

      hey my friend (: thanks so much for thinking of me, it's really touching. I am doing great and you're amazing for looking out for a friend (: I decided that I want to really focus on my rehab and get this ankle injury settled so I can complete the race and live up to my part of the promise for everyone who's fundraised for our cause. Things didn't go as smoothly with that as I'd hoped (I'll share when I'm back! nothing major, just a bit of bad luck!), and my body also had an unfortunate response to a new contraception I switched to so I'm just taking a second to get back to full strength and focussed. All is good though, there's still so much to be smiling about! 🌈 It means more than you know to have your support and your trust, and to hear that you're in Sports Psychology which I hope you love! You help so many people and I've seen how important your role is in helping people so thanks for what you do!

    As someone with Endometriosis, this video just filled me with emotion. If it takes 3 years it doesn’t matter, never mind a few extra weeks. The fact you have dedicated your body in this way to raise such an incredible amount of money for such an amazing cause is so selfless and honourable.
    You will run, you will do it. But you must look after yourself. Which is a message I give myself daily with my endo, I will accomplish all my goals but my body comes first.
    Mario your hair looks insane and seeing a man take action for this cause is AWESOME!
    Sorry this was such a ramble, I just wanted to comment something because wow I’m emotional 😂❤

    As someone who's hurt themselves from not listening to what my body was telling me for injuries and wellbeing, seeing this video is unbelievably helpful.     Hey girl, I am 3weeks out from a severe ankle ligament strain. I watched so many videos on how to return to running, and I was convinced that I would be back running within a few weeks. Hasn't happened yet, not even close, and up until this week I couldn't do any exercise. So I've been a mental wreck. This honestly came at such an important time for me, so thank you! I finally have the boot off, and I can at least hit the bike. You inspire me! You will absolutely get there, be kind to yourself :)

    You know, I've been having such a bad time lately.. nothing has been going as it should, people let me down, certain dreams were replaced by new fears and anxiety, just life doing what life does. I barely spend time on CZcams, but I have been watching every single one of your videos religiously for a loooong, long time. And hey, I just came here to say: You are never a let down. You're incredibly inspiring, your sensitivity and how openly you share your feelings and experiences with us all has lifted me out of some black holes (I certainly dug myself to an extent too :D, see? We all do it). And let's not even begin talking about how you and Mario's relationship and the standards in fitness you set are ABSOLUTE BALLOOOOONERS. I have never loved HIIT and lifting more and although I curse a lot during my workouts, I still enjoy them. So.. keep doing what you do, because I wouldn't know where I'd be without it. :)

    I ran my first half marathon back in May thanks to your content! You have made such an impact in my life, reminding me and my body what we are capable of after years of stagnation.     Hey Natacha, as someone who has gone through ankle surgeries on both of my ankles after years of ligament sprains, it seems like such a small, trivial thing but it's so encompassing to people like you who strive to live an active, healthy lifestyle.     You're amazing, Natacha! "Today is not the day" shows real maturity and self-knowledge. I was recently watching a professional piercer talking about the very same thing - times he was lying on the table to get some especially gnarly ones done, and it just didn't feel right in his body. He listened, he waited, and rescheduled, then had really positive experiences when his body was up for it. Huge congrats on the fundraising goal, and congrats to Mario for officially entering his Barbie era!

    Thank you for being so vulnerable and being real. Last year I was training for a half marathon when I busted my knee. Not being able to do it was really hard for me but I know I needed a long while to recover. But I got to support my husband that did run it. Your body is more important and thank you for sharing that with all of us! You didn't let anyone down.

    I so so so so appreciate how realistic you are about how injury impacts the body. I broke my toe this time last year and still haven't got back to 'normal' running because I was over-compensating for it when I got back into training! You've not disappointed or let down anyone - take time to heal, keep working alongside those physios and hope you feel better!

    Thanks for talking about intuitive training!! I was feeling quite guilty for having a break from training after a holiday and then feeling quite run down, but you reminded me how important breaks are & that sticking with it in long run is what really matters ☺️

    I always liked running but never could consistently until I stumbled upon your videos. Your running/health/fitness advice has helped me grow to the point I am able to call myself a runner now (I ran my first half marathon this Spring in 2hours) . For that I am forever grateful because it has changed my life physically and mentally. Thank you for being an inspiration and LITERALLY changing my life!!!!

    I don’t believe you’ve let anyone down, the fact that you share not only your goals and accomplishments, but also your struggles and “failures” shows how open and genuine you are, and that you also struggle like the rest of us.     Regardless if you were able to do the race or not, there is no denying that you have made a tremendous impact in many peoples lives by doing this!
    I haven’t ran in almost 10 years after getting hit by a truck, I just accepted that I would never run again. This 100mile series motivated me to stop making excuses and start trying. I have my first 5K race in two weeks now, I’ve been consistently running 1-2x a week and have been able to enjoy it for the first time in years.
    Thanks for everything you do in the fitness and running community, you’ve been a great influence!

    🩶🩶even your videos of not working out inspire me to workout. And I’ve even changed my mindset to “moving in a way that makes me happy” whatever it is.     i got a pelvic stress fracture 6 days before what would have been my first marathon this February. I didn't have anywhere near the pressures you had for this, but I had people planning to cross states to come support me, and I can absolutely relate to the feeling of letting people down but you really really have not. Your videos have helped me stay motivated and excited to get back to running, whenever that may be. I've been a fan for a few months but already know that you are such a wonderful person, speaker and athlete, and I hope you can feel this disappointment (something you worked HARD for and were excited about fell through) and then get through it. I'm sending you love and peace, I know how emotional and overwhelming periods like this can be.

    Girl, you can't let anyone down, you're literally the biggest inspiration. 🥺
    I injured my ankle 5 months ago, few ligaments were completely torn and I'm still learning how to properly walk...so just take the time you need to rest and recover and be proud of yourself for everything you're doing for us. 💪
    Ligaments are the worst 🥲 and knowing when to stop is quite hard so congratulations!

You showed us all that ITS OKAY TO BACK OFF AND HEAL 🥹 I’m currently struggling with a broken finger that I broke while surfing and cannot do much in the gym & feel like my progress is lost and this is GOLD ❤❤❤❤ not many videos around like this, there’s a lot of vids about achieving things but none about how to get back up after you fell 🥰

    Natacha, girlie. Your heart is 24K gold. We appreciate your accountability but this entire series got me to stop saying something I thought I'd never stop saying which is "I f*cking hate running." I'm in my late 20's and signed up for my first 5k. I plan on doing a half-mar next March. Thank you!! The videos of all of the journey, perfect or not, is incredibly motivating. Thank you and Mario!

    You give me power and hope. Since I‘ve started to follow your training programs (first Build, now Move), my life has changed so much for the better! I‘m turning 40 in two weeks, and I don’t want to go back, because with your help I’m stronger and more secure than ever before, and I actually look forward to getting older, because I don’t have to fear being unhealthy or not sporty or anything like that.

    I signed up for my first marathon and was 2 months into training before realizing my body wasn’t up for it and I had to back out. I was feeling so bad about myself and this video feels serendipitous because I applaud you for doing what your body needs so why would I fault myself for doing the same?

    I've pulled myself from a 24hr race when my hip started twinging 8hrs in, so nothing wrong with listening to your body (and knowing when your brain won't take it). These videos are 10x more important than the ones where you just do the thing! Thank you for sharing
