I think they were hesitant because they wanted someone who could really get the offense moving but realized how much the players vouched for him and they couldn’t afford make the same mistake they made with Bisaccia. Pierce isn’t a playcaller but he does have the voice that gets the attention of the players
Soon as he took over that defense made so many improves that kept them in a lot of games

As a raiders fan I’m excited. This has me thinking, is there anyway they can trade up to the top 3 for Jayden Daniels reunion with Pierce??? It’ll be a heavy draft trade for sure and a few players because those three teams seem set on drafting QBs as well
I think signing AP gives a good chance that he'll move up for a kid he knows and coached. I'm sure you know but Jayden was in the locker room week 18 so...
I could definitely see AP and the front office trading up and getting Daniels in the draft especially because it will be AP's first (as a coach) and he already has ties with him. But I don't think starting a rookie QB is the smartest thing to do especially with playoff hopes and I don't think Adams has enough time to deal with another rookie QB. Trade for Fields

this is what they should have done with Rich Bisaccia. but there is absolutely no doubt that this was the right decision. the Raiders defense and really the whole team was just different and BETTER under AP! improve the O line hopefully find a good QB and get the offense on track and keep doing what they are doing by following Maxx Crosbys lead on defense! maybe next year we actually make the playoffs!
