Oh, man! What memories. I was there for the 1964 Drag Fest and remember so many of those machines. Dos Palmas, Super Nero, Mooneyes to name but some. You've made an old man very happy indeed. 😄😄😄

Yes that was a great moment which I had to record... earlier your father told me that he reckoned his previous experience driving rally cars helped him to keep the dragster under control as it swerved side to side at 145mph in the rain at Blackbushe '65... 😮

My son bought a vw beetle , the black widow that ran at Santa pod, it’s set up for the strip but still street legal, the person we bought it from started to butcher it and turn it into a baja bug, I have restored it back how it was and put a fibreglass race front end on it, I have nearly finished building a new 2.4cc race engine with a turbo, hopefully my son can come there and race it to see what times he can do.
