  • Using surveillance to spy on snails and releasing a "killer" parasatoid fly are just two of the new controls being researched as part of a GRDC investment to tackle the escalating snail problem. Baiting has traditionally been the main strategy for snail control but research suggests it should form part of a combined approach that now includes technology and biological controls. This video details how cameras in paddocks are being used to track snail migration habits and we’ll get a look at the parasatoid fly that is helping to suppress conical snails.
