The first season was classic "listen up Andrew and get some pointers" LMAO 🤣 😂
I loved that line as well.
WOW... Andrew gonna get up and....
LOL..
Oh, yes, indeed, Andrew definitely needed some "Moral fibre" in his diet😉😁🤣😈.
😂😂😂😂😂😂
OMG, when that woman came on the screen and said, "She was SO snobby on the phone!" I cackled 😂😂😂
This is the first episode I ever remember watching. I was not sure what I thought of the show at first. Then I saw the arraignment. That scene is the one that made me want to keep watching Law & Order. And to get more fiber in my diet.
😂
I really miss Michael Moriarty and Richard Brooks. They really made me appreciate the details of each case.
I can imagine Andrew going through all kinds of hell in his day-to-day life.
I love this scene, you can almost smell the sweat and cheap perfume. I made the mistake of watching the new L & O and the squad room is so sterile a doctor could operate in there. The writing is lazy and the actors are sub-par. I long for the days of Lenny and Mike.
Poor Andrew lol 😂
I know the feeling. lol
He probably didn’t get enough fiber that day…we ALL need fiber, you know 😝😂
So early L&O that they still had all the stagy "Night Court" like characters in the background.
Was probably accurate to contemporary nighttime courtrooms in NYC. I mean, they could just head over to the courthouse and sit off to the side to see what they looked like and how people (mis)behaved.
Something tells me Andrew was let off lightly.
Is it me or the 90s ny courts were actually pretty smoky?
😂 that was just a 90’s thing
every environment was smoky back them... the forbiddance of smoking inside was still a "baby"
I think it has more to do with how the show was both filmed & lit during season 1, there certainly was quite a lot of inconsistant, sometimes overexposed light, as well pretty deep shadows & glares in most interior scenes during the season. I did notice several episodes near the end of the season where it was addressed partially. And by the start of the season 2 the lighting in interior shots improved greatly.
The "good old days" when people could still smoke 🚬 inside. I think it was officially made illegal around '98 or '99?
Did Andrew ever appear again? I want to see if he learned to improve his business or not.
Some serious close-talking going on there.
A young Courtney B. Vance, husband of Angela Bassett
I thought that was him. L&O: Criminal Intent's main prosecutor...
And the droll and charismatic Mr. Vance went on to play Raymond Carver in Law and Order, Criminal Intent.
A true scene stealer.
Those girls are sassy, I like em
L&O court in 1st season...it's like a cigar room!!
Man, I really need to get hooked into the show.
Politics make strange bedfellows
Always have, always will
Kind of a pointless scene, if you ask me
Gosh, that poor kid had no idea that his grandpa was getting questioned and talked about using prostitutes at his birthday party. Makes me glad the worst things mine did was have sweets when they weren’t supposed to as a diabetic.
Modern day Ghislaine Maxwell
When Stone said "I want prison, not jail.", what was he implying? Aren't "prison" and "jail" the same thing?
Jail is usually considered like detention center. In between court and short sting. Prison is for the sentences to be served, it is longer but offeres more services and ability to pass the time.
Well that's my understanding anyway.
No. Jail is for short sentences of 1 to 2-1/2+ years. Also holding the perp, until their charges are settled, weather it be through court date(s), or they are released.
Prison is usually for any sentences over 2-1/2 to 3 years long...
@@Deborahtunes Jail is not for any sentence, long or short.
@@gracieamazing2076 ~ Yes it is. My husband was a corrections officer. I know what I'm talking about...
@@gracieamazing2076 ~ Plus, I know someone who got a one year sentence, who was held in jail for part of their time. Afterwards they did the rest of it in a halfway house...
Why does the early season look like the court was filmed in a smoky bar lol
NEED more Lupo and Bernard!!!
Lupo and Bernard were in middle school when this case happened.
Had them on here for a long while. It's the originals' turn.
If these women did it voluntarily then there’s no crime here. Decriminalize it, it’s a terrible sin but I wouldn’t have the government persecute either
The problem is that many prostitution rings take advantage of low-income and poor women, and many also take away their freedoms or rights as well. Prostitution should be fine for consenting women, but the reality is that most, especially poorer ones, are used as cheap labor with their bodies taken out of their control.
@@openthinker6562 so keep pimping criminalized not prostitution itself
"sir, this is a 30 year old tv show..."
@@openthinker6562 then allow them to Unionize and require weekly std testing and arrest Those who aren’t being tested or licensed and then offer them the option of jail or rehab
@@bonghitsforbudha you don’t arrest the untested
Wow does Ghislaine Maxwell come to mind?
So odd hearing the DUN DUN during scene transition sounding like it’s on crack.
That guy the woman was yelling at looks so much like Will Smith
Sure it isn't Jada
@@KamsPoliticalPredictions That is so cold but so funny at the same time
Andrew!!!
Hey Spike
Tammy 1 strikes again
How does this one end spoil me
I'm pretty sure she got arrested; this is from season 1, so it's hard for me to remember
@@saintouija6403 thank u
czcams.com/video/Bi9G4R3riUw/video.html here’s another piece
She takes a plea deal from Stone and only ends up serving like 5 years. Stone realizes later that allowing her to plea may have been a mistake as its made apparent from the Jury forewoman that they likely would've gotten a conviction
@@johnbeatz380 thanks man
Fiber
Protein
I told you we *all* need fiber!
Could anyone please tell me what episode this is?
s1e7 - By Hooker, by Crook
Why was the court so smokey?
Was smoking allowed in the courtroom in the 90s? What the hell with the smoky filming lol
I assume this is based on Heidi Fleiss?
Also the Mayflower Madam, which was actually in NYC.
No - it's based on Sydney Biddle Barrows, the 'Mayflower Madam' (as Christopher mentioned).
It's not "also" though - it could not possibly be based on Heidi Fleiss. This episode aired in 1990. Heidi Fleiss didn't even begin her ring until 1990 and wasn't caught until 1993.
@@RLplusabunchofdumbnumbers @christopher C Thanks for the knowledge and correction.
Isn't prostitution actually legal in
Nevada?
At one place only. And they are very regulated by the state of Nevada.
Legalish - technically still federally illegal like weed is but its regulated closely by the state and as long as you have that, the feds have a hands off policy until there's a scandal and the DOJ needs something to distract people with.
@@blueone94 Not "one place only" - it's legal in Nevada in any county with a population less than 700,000 that wishes to license it. 10 of the 15 eligible counties do, though only 7 have active brothels.
The only county where it's not legal is Clark County, which is where Vegas is - the law was specifically written to exclude Clark County (it's the only county with a pop over 700k).
@@sws212 There are no federal laws prohibiting prostitution itself. The only Federal laws regarding prostitution have to do with either immigration, interstate commerce (primarily travel), or the military - since those are the only areas where the Feds can claim a jurisdiction.
There is no Federal law whatsoever prohibiting prostitution in general and the situation is not akin to weed. All laws outright prohibiting prostitution are state level (and below).
@BILL MURRAY yes but only to one area in the strip where the hotels and casinos are and its very regulated by the state of Nevada, and prostitutes are tested regularly through free clinics and hospitals.
