The video was great and worked for most. But not for me! However, I found the solution. I have a Mac M1 OS Ventura 13.4. I tried the above steps. Didn't work. Finally got a hold of a Microsoft "Level 2" tech support representative. First, I quit the Outlook app. Then followed the steps in this video. BUT after adding in the Spotlight Privacy box the Main Profile and the New Profile folders (which were the 2 folders I had in the Outlook 15 Profiles folder). she also had me add the Mac HD icon (that's on my desktop) into the Spotlight "privacy" box. Click Done. Then, as explained in this video, reopen the Spotlight Privacy box. Take out all three folders. Click Done. I then opened Spotlight in the Menu bar of my mac and put "outlook" in the search field. Don't press "return" when you do that. Just let it be. A blue indexing "progress" bar should appear. Took 1.5 hours to index. When done, I opened the Outlook app. Did a test search. Voilà. Works like a charm! Hallelujah! Hope this helps.
Dear Channel owner Boxer (Hard/Smart Worker). I have been searching this type of practical videos for the past 4 months. Finally I found Knowledgeable Video........... Thank you soo much. Keep going this type of practical videos....
I've waited about 2 hours and the fix hasn't taken effect. Do I need to restart Outlook? Leave it open while it works behind the scenes? I haven't had the same luck as some of the other users below.
WOW! This actually worked like magic! I just migrated from my 2015 macbook pro to a new macbook air. Everything moved over but a few glitches. One of them was not to be able to search my outlook. This was incredibly frustrating since I spend almost my whole day in my emails and looking through old emails etc... anyways. This seems kind of silly and too easy. but it works!! 2020 Macbook air M1. Running latest microsoft outlook app.
Thank you so much for this clear instruction video - I've spend at least one hour reading articles etc to this problem, but none of them resolved the issue. This video did! Thanks 👍
This is brilliant - thank you so much. I couldn't find this information from either Microsoft or Apple and you have brilliantly provided a solution to a very irritating problem.
Hi thank you so much for your video! for some reason I am unable to get this to work. I also read somewhere that this won't work for OS Mojave or newer. Is there another way around this?
I tried it , but didn't work in my case any other suggestions? it is really frustrating me this issue, and largely affecting my performance . any one can help? pleasssssse
Hi Jinus, I'm trying to solve this problem on my Mac Ventura but I can't see the UBF8 folder in the library. Could you please tell me how to find it or if the video solution does not apply to Ventura? Thank you in advance for your help. Alex
I changed from "legacy" to the new Outlook version of Outlook for Mac and the problem was solved. However, I'd very much prefer to continue using the legacy version, as it is visually clearer and minimalist. If you come up with a solution for Ventura, please let us know. Thank you!@@JinusTechVideos
Hi Jinu - is there anything else i need to do if there are multiple users on the same Mac? When I switched users and then came back to my profile, the Outlook search did not work again - it was completely blank when searching for identical items that were indexed before switching users???
Well, guess what, after 20 min, it stops working. I searched the Internet and found it was a common problem for Monterey. I have to use the web app to search. Not happy.
thank you Jinus, but i had a problem dude after doing all this steps, i can search, but a few minutes later, it come back with the same issue... :( i did all the steps

Just swapped from my air to a pro and lost the search function. This video is excellent, already my search index has returned. Thank you!
After reading a few pages and a few videos, this was by far the very best (and fastest) way to a resolution. Thank you so much.
