My maxed out MacBook Pro 2015 15 inch was having the fans at full blast when I only had 2 tabs of chrome open. After doing this itâs just warm but not turning the fans on at maximum load. You can hear the fans if you listen carefully which is what itâs supposed to do. It was driving me crazy because I recently replaced the thermal paste and cleaned out completely. Almost bought a new computer. Thank you!

Hello there, I have a 2016 MacBook Pro A1707. I replaced the old battery to a new one and since then The fan keeps spinning and the Mac has become super slow. It was working fine before the battery change. I followed your video instructions but no luck. Can you help?
I hadn't used this reset in several years so I had forgotten which buttons to push, thanks. My right fan was running really slow at about 241rpm, simple restart didn't help but this fixed the issue.

My macbook pro (2017) wasn't charging at all, so it ended up dying (not even the dead battery sign was showing)... so I took it to an apple store in Cådiz (K-Tuin) and they said it could be an issue with the charging port...the piece replacement would cost over 650⏠(insane) and maybe the keyboard had to be replace too... so as you may know I wasn't up to paying THAT amount of money and took my issue to google, when this video raise up like the lifesaver it is and I fixed my mac (I'm actually writing this review from it)...You're awesome, thank you for sharing your knowledge and I'm saving this for future reference of course.

Who else decided to revive their old 2009 Macbook Pro? It's COVID and stuck at home anyway! Upgraded mine with new RAM, battery and SSD and the fan was running all the time! This video save it. Fan is quiet as a mouse now. Thanks so much!!

I encountered a Battery-not-Charging problem and the battery stuck around 26% on a MacBook pro 14â (Apple M1 pro chip). Resetting SMC solved my problem:
1. I shut down mac & wait for 30 seconds and turn it on. (While unplugged)
2. Then I shutdown mac and plugged-in and wait for 2 hours but luckily before the perceived time battery reached đŻđ

You should use your mac in a flat surface, such as a table or even a book (when you wanna use it in your lap)
That will sgop overheating, hence reduce fan noice.
No need for resetting SMC lol

When yoi wanna use it in your lap, use a something like a book.
When you use it in your lap or on a pillow, or any soft surface, you're blocking the fans.
Using a hard surface will reduce overheating lol
I did exactly what you did in the video but still not charging the battery. Does this mean that my battery do actually need to be replaced. Can you recommend further steps if the solution you showed didn't work! Very much appreciated

@@whitneyallan8508 just follow the video instructions. It will work, better hope it does because that keyboard cannot be replaced, you have to replace the entire surface and it cost 3 quarters of the computer. Just follow the video.

Hi!!! I just came across this video and I just wanted to say thank you SOOOOO much because this helped me resolve a problem that my mac's been having for the LONGEST time. I'll be leaving my experience here just incase anybody else needs it or are experiencing the same problem!!!
I have a Macbook Air 2017 model and my USB ports on both side have not been working for like.... 2 years now? and I got these new headsets I wanted to try out and I was trying to plug it in n connect it w my laptop through the USB cable - but it didn't work. The headsets could work wireless too but the sound quality was HORRIBLE when connected through Bluetooth with my laptop so I was worried that it was a problem w my USB ports (since my headsets are literally new). I tried the SMC reboot and IMMEDIATELY, my USB ports got fixed and now everything works. I cannot express how HAPPY I am right now!!! So yeah! Thank you!!! and YES this works 100% it saved me money and time from visiting the Apple Store.
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! My mac was stuck at rebooting with no menu on top. No way to shut down in the activity monitor the update of ios which I think caused the issue. Now itâs all back uo, update completed and mac working perfectly. I wouldnât even find such information on mac forum and they would always prompt to reboot in safe mode which didnât worked neither for me. This resolved the issue perfectly. Thanksâ

Hi! thank you very much for sharing this video. One of the charging slot of my less than 2 yr old MacBook Pro was not working. I went to the service centre to have it repaired/replaced but I was told that I will spend around 500 dollars just for the repair and replacement coz the charging slot is not a separate part but is a part of the whole motherboard. Decided I dont want to spend that much and I just have to live by with only once charging slot. Good thing I saw your video. It worked wonders!!! im very happy!

Mat I would love to say thank you for this video definitely helped me fix the issue my issue was I could log in but it wasnât recognizing the same password to allow me access my passwords or install software or give permissions to other apps generally I was locked out from with in but this reset fixed whatever it was that was not workingâŠ. I had honestly given up.

It works on my 2018 MacBook Air, Shut down and then press Shift Ctrl Command and Fingerprint button for a few secs. THANKS!

Inexorable nope. I had to take the mac to the service. It turned out that mainboard was damaged somehow (got no idea how it could happen)

@@smokyblackeyes3615i took it to service and found out that it is mainboard issue. They changed the mainboard which i had to pay

2014 Macbook Air. Tried all the SMC and other resets. Installing a new $35.00 battery did the trick. I mean the thing was almost eight years old. Good as new.

Wont delete anything. Try plugging Mac into a external monitor if you can to see if it flickers as well?

Ahmad Zablah even though it sounds obvious for the SMC reset but after doing exactly the same as him and restart several times it works again. Hope you get that sorted, I know itâs very inconvenient especially this happens when I was doing revision for next day exam.

I didnât have to reset but I have a MacBook Pro and didnât know how to turn it off cus the trackpad stopped responding to click and this helped to restart. Came back up and everything was fine. Thanks!!!

Your version of 10 seconds is more like 4 seconds.
Yeh ahah, Apple says 10 but when you work on the computers allot you can tell when the laptop is ready and maybe don't need to wait the full 10.
